If you won’t be wearing your e-ring, I say definitely go with #1 due to the slightly bigger size (and the added sparkle from better quality diamonds).

    I like #2 more. It’s dantier; doesn’t look as chunky as #1.

@ana77:  Whats your ring size? If you are smaller I would go with the dainty one, but if it is larger I would go for the bigger one. Personally I prefer the details (lack of dent) on the larger one. I don’t think it will look thick/bulky on an average/large size finger.

As for color and clarity, I would want VS2 or above and H or above, but thats personal taste. I would not pay to get D vs F colored diamonds or  IF vs VS2 diamonds, just because I can’t see the difference, personally.

I would go for No 2. Can you change it to remove the indents? It’s similar in size to mine so I’m biased!

Mine is a mixture of tanzanite and diamonds and I wanted something dainty. Have no e ring as well. See below…

I usually like thinner bands, but since you are only going to wear the band by itself I would pick #1.  I’m the type of person who would be bothered by the lesser quality diamonds in the second band (don’t know if it is the photo, but the diamonds appear more yellow in #2).  You will have to decide which is more important to you: quality of diamonds (which will affect “sparkle”) or look of the band.

I voted for 2, because I genuinely like it better.  Even though the stones / band is thinner, I like that you get more finger coverage width wise.  It also seems ‘flatter’ on the top than the other one, which will be more comfortable.  I had a princess channel set wedding band, started with .25ct and traded to 1ct, and the only reason was for the finger coverage (when viewed from the top, all I saw were stones).  They both sparkled the same to me, the bigger one more so because it covered more area.  Does that make sense or am I talking in circles??  LOL.

This is a really common setting – i’m sure you could find one at a store that doesn’t have the indents and that is around the same price. i would keep looking.

But of the two, i prefer the 2nd one. I don’t think the 1st is worth double the cost of the 2nd.

PS – I like the indents on the side, it allows more light to hit the sides of the stones for added sparkle.  A lot of channel set bands aren’t as sparkly because you’re not letting any light hit anywhere but the top.  That’s just my opinion though.  Just a thought.  Wink
