Indecisive bee here, looking for yall’s opinion on wedding shoes to go with my dress. I would describe my personal style as layered, edgy but relaxed & laid back, mixed with a little bit of feminine. I definitely add my own twist to my everyday look—so when I fell in love with my dress (Vera Wang Gemma) I knew I wanted to pump it up a bit with my shoes and accessories. My dress is sexy, but soft and classic, and a little more girly than I thought I’d end up with, but I LOVE IT! So far I’ve purchased three pairs of shoes and I’m considering a fourth (yikes, I know)—I love each of them for very different reasons. Which one do yall like the best considering my personal style and my dress? Our colors are shades of ivory, dark navy, and accents of gold. And our “theme” is romantic and modern (our venue is a very modern museum with views of the city), in case any of this helps!
Please let me know and why! Truly appreciate ya’lls help!
My dress—Vera Wang Gemma (please note, this is not me in the dress and I bought mine without the blizzard beading in the skirt):
Option 1—Gold glitter fabric (*DROOL*, the most comfy out of the bunch, but are these too traditional & expected):
Option 2—Gold glitter pumps (I was surprised at how sexy these were on, attaching a pic of SJP wearing them because the stock pic just doesn’t do them justice. They are way more sparkly in person, fun!)
Option 3—Blue suede sandals (would be my something blue. I do like that I can see myself wearing these again and again, but my mom thought they weren’t formal enough)
Option 4—Blue satin sandal (haven’t purchased these yet, least comfy of the bunch but still very pretty on. Mom thinks these are better if I wanted my shoes to be the something blue because they’re dressier)

I voted for the most comfortable pair

I went gold gilter pump as a closed toe is classy with formal gown.
Love ’em all though but the sparklies for the win.

I love the pumps!! I searched forever to try to find something exactly like those!! I wore something very similar but had to more or less make my own. They are perfect with your dress!!!

bee, your dress looks amazing in you!
I voted for a 2nd option. I love the shoes best + i do not think sandals is a great match for the wedding you describe, I would leave time for garden and beach occasion

Came back expecting there to be a clear winner and it’s a dead heat 🙁
Oh noes, his doesn’t help haha! No it does help eliminate the blue ones.
Thanks so much but that’s not me in the dress haha.

The first ones for sure. For a start they are comfiest which on your wedding day should be a huge factor, plus I think they look best. I think they actually look really cool and funky, but bridal too. I don’t like option 2 as I hate that pointy-toed style, they have a dated feel to me and I feel like I can practically hear people’s toes screaming. The purple ones are fine but nothing special and the blue ones are pretty boring. So, #1!

I like 2 and 3, but want to suggest you make sure 1 and 2 aren’t going to snag your dress as you walk around. It looks like the dress is going to cover your feet and be on top of them a lot. Also, several of my guests mentioned they really liked the shoes I picked when looking at pictures and that they hadn’t seen them during the wedding, so don’t stress too much!

Shoe #1, it’s comfy and matches your theme while still being bridal. Other than your photographer taking specific pics, no one will really see your shoes anyways so better to be comfortable!!

I like option #1, then #3. Personally not a fan of #2 (don’t think they really go with the dress). Just make sure that the giltter/metallic finish won’t catch or snag on your dress fabric. And that is a GORGEOUS dress!!!

I say go for the most comfortable ones…the gold fabric ones are the prettiest and can be worn again too.

Thank you everyone for all your help! I’ve decided to go with the sandals for the wedding! I also may just keep the gold sparkly pumps cause they’re just so fun and then wear those for my rehearsal dinner. Something shorter to show them off (if I don’t find any others between now and then). Those have the longest return policy so I have plenty of time to take them back.
Now onto accessories, I’m sure I’ll start another thread about that because I’ve amassed 5 pairs of earrings. It totally sucks being so dang indecisive lol

I like the style of and the coloring of the pointy toed pump with your dress.
