aylasasha:  This is not an ugly ceremony space. It is a neutral room. There is nothing that needs hiding or covering up.

How many guests will you be having? It looks like there are about 48-50 chairs set up in your pic. Will you take up more or less space?

Do you have any theme or feel for your wedding?

The room has a suspended ceiling so it will be easy to hang anything you want.

Where is the wooden slab?

Do you have a pic of the tulle and scroll thing you referred to?

The Space is perfect, just needs fabric and detail added. I would hire someone to heavly back drop the entyre wall. The one with the Window on it, cover up the window as it is distracting, make sure they heavly backdrop the window so the light doesn’t shine threw. Then I would get the them to build a Fabric Canopy. All this should cost between $200 and $400.

You really don’t need the flowers on the Canopy.

Make it look kind of like this

aylasasha:  What is your budget for this room? Another pp suggested hiring someone to the entire wall but I’m quite sure that would cost more than $200-$400. The price would vary depending on where you live. The wall looks to be in decent condition and doesn’t need to be hidden.

I love the scroll!! So beautiful and meaningful if it is in your own words. Still great if you use your marriage vows or a great quote about love.

You could center the scroll in fabric draped like this- easy to hang the rings from the T bars of the ceiling

Are you going to hang a chandelier like your pic? If so, rather than do balloons or typical paper lanterns, I would hang  a few battery operated chandeliers over the space- maybe two on each side of the aisle-front and back.

Do the windows have blinds? If so, I would close them and use the chandeliers, maybe supplemented with some candles (LED if necessary) for lighting.

Something similar to this could provide a continuity with the look of the reception area:

That mirror wall would be great to work with. Splurge on some unique lighting. It will reflect in the mirror. The scroll idea looks great. I would just be careful where in the room you place it since there are large windows. You might get some glare.

I agree that’s totally doable. I don’t love my ceremony space and I’m doing most of the re-decor with lighting. My ceremony will be after dark so I’m using candles and other lights to warm it up, and also create more of a defined space since the room is way bigger than we need.
