I wish I had beams! You can hang all sorts of things–pomanders, flowers, glass balls, ribbons, lights, etc. You can make tulle bows for the chairs. You can have maroon/gold throw pillows for the windows and if within budget place same color sheers around the window.

This was our reception space (and wedding).  I think you can do something very similar by adding the lights and paper lanterns.  You wouldn’t believe how simple it is but how much it really gives a space personality.

As for the ceremony space…WOW!  I am so jealous.  That is so gorgeous. What about draping the benches with different maroon print blankets or quilts.  And here’s an idea for the aisle that I found:

@loving_life:  Do the lights dim? If they do I wouldn’t be concerned about decorating the walls. With the tables and lights it will be enough.

@KateByDesign:  Hmmm, do you think they used regular twine to hang the poms between trees?   I will be doing something similar and have been trying to think of anything I can do to get some fun above our heads and was considering fishing wire.  Not that trees aren’t fun.

@loving_life:  It’s all about lighting!  If you use twinkle of globe lights (I happen to be partial to globe myself),  you really don’t need lights in the lanterns so your budget for those would be pretty low.  There are also some badass DIY doily lanterns that you can make out of papermache and a balloon.  https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&biw=1280&bih=917&q=diy+doily+lantern&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_cp.r_qf.,cf.osb&wrapid=tlif134238811301010&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=isch&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi&ei=kjcDUKj_Ese1qAGqw6yyDA

@WillyNilly:  Mmm I’m not sure, it looks a little lighter than twine.  Fishing wire would work great!

@KateByDesign:  Totally cosign.

OP, part of the charm is that it IS a lodge, don’t hide the good stuff, just accent it with interestng linens, flowers, etc.  🙂
