Okay so I bought my dress back in October….Totally wasnt what I was thinking…I wanted something with lace but all the lace gowns I tried on didnt suit me and then I was thinking of a mermaid style. To be honest I had no idea what would look good on me. I just wanted something that was me with some sparkle but not too much. Then after 5 hours and at the last dress shop appointment and the last dress that the owner got me to try it on I had the reaction that I had been waiting for all day….I actually caim to tears, and everyone said this was the one. So i bought it and I bought it in alabaster. So now I have been looking at other people in the dress online and my pics of me in the dress and I dont know whether I made a bad choice. or if I should alter it to make it puffier as I think the bottom just hangs. Please help!!! I would love ou suggestions and advice and opinions…honest truth please. Also, I’m worried about the colour….It looks really dark in my photos and i know its not that dark but still I’m worried…The wedding is January 2014…so would an ivory fur shawl look okay…

Thanks guys! I do love it but im second guessing myself so much. I look at the picture of the model in the dress and it looks so different. I did pin the top as it is just straight accross but thought i looked better in the sweetheart style so I am altering that.

@miss tortuga: You look gorgeous in the dress! And it is a beautiful dress! You made the right choice. And I wouldn’t compare yourself to a model wearing the same dress! It looks so much better on a real person with some curves!

I think you look better in the dress than the model does! If you’re worried about the bottom part, you could always look into getting a crinoline that makes it stand out a little more/makes it a little poufier.

I think it looks beautiful on you! Same thing happened when I went shopping, i was looking for a flowy, loose fitting chiffon number and ended up buying a lace mermaid, because it is what suited me better! I think that dress looks gorgeous on you and don’t ever forget why you bought it in the first place, because it looks AH mazing! Of course models and professional photos of brides are going to look beautiful in a variety of gowns. YOU are going to look fabulous on your wedding day.

Thank you everyone for your reassurances and making me feel good about my decision. Ha 1 year to go that I must avoid looking at other dresses! I’m so glad I’m not the only bride that has doubts about there dress though.
@ ktf1026: I think I may try the crinoline 🙂 Thanks again!!!

So I know that everyone has posted really great comments and made me feel good about my dress. My sister sent me all the pics of the dresses that were maybes from the day of shopping and I hate them compared to my dress. Then I looked at wedding dress images I had saved and realized that I had saved similar ones to mine but by Maggie Sottero.
I think I will stick with my dress – the colour of the dresses by MS are also shown in Alabaster the same as mine but it just shows up really dark with my sisters camera…So I don’t think anyone will make comments about it being so obviously not white. Also, if i make my dress a sweethear and add more crinoline I think It will be the changes I’m looking for.
What do you bees think?

I love this dress so much, I want it!

It is gorgeous. I’m really struggling to understand why you wouldn’t love it.
And yes to the shawl, though I think a bolero would be even better with a sweeheart neckline, as it would create a portrait neckline effect.
Fur or feathers would be lovely.

I think you just need a bigger hoop or crinoline

So heres an update!
I actually kind of forgot with all the other wedding stuff to check the post i had made.
Anyways I love all the comments and I did go to try on my dress with a crinoline/bigger hoop and with all the working out I’ve been doing I am now in love with my dress. The colour isn’t dark at all, I am not sure why it turned out that dark in the first pictures, but anyways heres the updated dress with bigger hoop:
What do you think? Should I go bigger with the hoop?
I have no doubts now that this is the right dress!!!SOooooo happy that I like it as I was a but worried now that were now passed the year mark if I had to get another dress.Phew…one more thing off the list.
