I’m getting married in my family’s yard. The yard is well kept with lots of space but very plain. I don’t want to spend a lot but I’d like to have an arch or some sort of backdrop for saying our vows (otherwise it will just be in front of a wooden fence). I’m looking for any great DIY arch ideas. I’m not sure what look to go for, all ideas are welcome! Thanks!

swonderful: There are lots of great ideas online:
they need not be expensive at all.

swonderful: We’re getting married inside (Australian summer + English in-law’s probably wouldn’t mix outside!)…but I wanted something special for the ceremony. I’m doing something like this: http://www.elizabethannedesigns.com/blog/2013/12/10/autumn-mansion-wedding/rustic-wedding-arch/ Just without the brick bit at the bottom.
I bought two large vases in charcoal, ‘wiggly sticks’ and will have some flowers as well on the day. All up it will cost less than $100 and I get to keep some spectacular vases.

We made an arch out of 2x4s, painted it, and decorated it with flowers and tissue poms. It was pretty easy (handy husband + handy friend did it) and probably cost only ~$50…

Here’s some examples I found on Pinterest.
