Hey all! Need some advice here. My dress came in (yay!), and the VERY simple ivory silk “belt” it came with is a bit underwhelming. It’s really more of a ribbon than a “belt”. I don’t like the look of it… I’m not sure how to tie it to make it look nice, and from the front, I think it cuts the intricate beaded design of this dress in half, without adding anything.
My question for all of you is: do you think I need a belt at all with this dress? There is a seam at the waist, but it is barely noticeable in person, so I’m not worried about that. But, I don’t want it to look like there’s something “missing”.
I don’t have a pic without the belt, sorry…! Oh, and I’ve removed those sleeves. So it’s now a sleeveless sheath:

Your dress is gorgeous and you look amazing in it! Fully agree with you about the current belt not adding anything. It’s hard to tell if you need a belt without a front shot, but I think if I were to add one I would go with a very thin beaded belt

I second Robyn0214, I think a very thin beaded belt would be perfect, if you decide you need one at all.

sleepymelis: Your dress is beautiful! Could you post a couple more pics maybe? Front shots. with and without the belt? It’s hard for me to tell right now.

Thanks ladies! I do love it. Was torn with dress regret after ordering it and then lusting after lace dresses, but now that I have it, I love it 🙂
Here’s a pic from the front (ignore the weird lump on the left side, I think that’s a tag):

i’m picturing this as a sleeveless sheath and would vote no belt, especially not the ribbon that was sent with it. I love your dress!

I say no belt, if you do decide on a belt definitely not the one that came with the dress.

you look great. I say yes to statement piece belt to split up the coloring.

What a beautiful dress. I don’t think you need a belt.

I think there is enough sparkle on the dress without an added belt

ooh, what dress is this? I’m drooling. I think no belt – simple, stunning, perfec.

littlebuzz: Ubela from the Rosa Clara Soft collection! I’m told this dress was discontinued in August, though – so you may be able to find it at a discount. There are also a few other dresses in the Soft collection that look very similar.

sleepymelis: I vote no belt. The dress looks gorgeous. I think a belt interrupts the dress and it’s elegance.
