Here is a picture of my wedding dress I purchased it’s a David Tutera and I love it! The only thing I want to change is the neckline to a full sweetheart. It’s already a modified sweetheart. I’ve lost about 10-15 lbs. since this photo and the first thing to shrink was my boobs (ahhh! lol) and I don’t like the modified as much as i’d like a full sweetheart. Only problem is I don’t want to ruin the crystal beading. Has anyone else alter their dresses with extensive beading/crystal? How did it turn out? Is it even possible? My dress would be PERFECT if I could just modifly the neckline to a sweetheart! Any suggestions/comments would be appreciated! Thanks girls!

Another photo of the party dress that is underneath this one 🙂

I would consider that to already be a full sweetheart but I’m not a sewing expert so I’m not really helpful here. Just wanted to say that I really like that dress and I love dresses that convert!

Well it already looks like a full sweetheart to me, but I’m guessing you want more of a plunge in the middle.
Modifying the dress is entirely possible. doing so cheaply is another matter, all of the beading and boning in the bodice and along the top would take some serious work and skill to adjust. So in short, yes it’s possible, but be prepared to shell out some cash and make sure you hire someone who really knows what they are doing! The beading could get really screwed up by an amatuer.

Well i’d like a bit more shape since I lost some of my “upper” half it doesn’t look the same when I put it on it looks more like this:

I actually think the neckline looks beautiful as is!

I like it as is, I think any deeper would be too much boobage!

I, too, think it looks PERFECT how it is. Be cautious about how much cleavage you want to show…don’t do anything you’ll regret later (i.e. viewing your wedding album and thinking “I look as if the girls were about to fall out”)! By the way, your gown is gorgeous and I love that it is also a party dress too!

It’s do-able, but it’s going to be expensive if you want it done right. Also, I agree with the other posters. You look fabulous in it the way it is! 🙂
