Hello Bees! I need your help. I found the dress of my dreams, a lace mermaid by Enzoani Blue. I am having the beading taken off under the bust because in person, it looks very cheap and I really don’t like it. However, I don’t know what to replace it with! Will the dress look to plain without anything? I LOVE sashes, but I’m afraid it will hit in a weird spot and take away from the curvy “mermaid” look. Maybe a different beaded belt?

Beaded belt?

Silk sash?
What do you think??

Either would look great, but it will also look lovely on its’ own.
Have you thought of pinning on a nice brooch where the beading will be removed? Something handed down in the family or borrowed from your mom or grandmother?

I love your dress on its own. Have you tried any on with the dress to see how you like it with a sash?

Beautiful dress 🙂
I would not do the sash. I think it would take away from the look you are going for. I do think the beaded belt would look good, but I would put it just under your bust and would make it maybe an inch wide all the way around.

Thanks everyone!
@julies1949 – I have thought about using a brooch! I LOVE anything vintage. Apparently my fiance’s great grandmother had a huge collection, but for some reason, his grandmother recently got rid of them all. I’ve been browsing Etsy for some other options…
I am leaning towards beaded now!

Congratulations on finding your dress, i’m a fan of Enzoani. I think an ivory silk sash would look great. This link http://classifieds.weddingbee.com/topic/for-sale-cambridge-by-blue-by-enzoani-dress-and-many-many-more shows a classified for a bee who wore Enzoani Cambridge with an ivory sash that had a flower and it infact may still be for sale.

@CatyLady:
I couldn’t decide between the “Cambridge” and the “Champagne” dress! I love that flower sash, thank you!

I think a beaded applique/sash would look gorgeous! There are a ton of them on Etsy.

I don’t think you need to replace it with anything! The dress is beautiful without it! But if you do want to add a sash around your waist I think that would be beautiful too. Maybe you could go try on the dress with a sash after it’s done and see what you think. You can probably order it in really quick if you need to.

I wouldn’t replace it with a belt. Instead, I might look for a really great necklace. Your dress looks great on you, by the way!

@melisslp:
Thanks for the link! I love those. I will have to try it on again once the beading is removed and see how “plain” it looks without something on it…
Thanks for the compliments everyone. : )
