Hi everyone! So the wedding planning is really starting to kick off, which is super exciting. We’ve booked our venue, we’re researching photographers, my fiance is actively working on the honeymoon, and I’ve started dress shopping. BUT…
Our wedding is June, 1 2012 and I think Save-The-Date Cards are a priority at the moment. I know the photos we want to use, but I don’t know where to begin! Do I start getting people’s addresses? Do I need envelopes and envelope liners? Just cards, cards and a magnet, or other ideas? Where can I go to see ideas for layout and font styles? Front of the card or both sides, or one that you open like a greeting card? Who do I get to print them?
Aaah, help! Any ideas or suggestions from your experiences would be SUPER appreciated – thank you!!!!

I find it really useful to go to the front page bloggers, and their STD’s. You can select it under the Tag mini-header. You’ll get to see a huge selection of everything! Hope that hopes!

Yes you will need to get addresses right away. You don’t need envelopes liners, the envelopes will depend on the kind of Save-The-Date Cards you get. We did post cards, they were free from vistaprint.com and they were alot easier and cheaper to send out. I would check them out and play with the different kinds of things that they have. I really liked ours. Etsy is another good place if budget isn’t a concern.

Date twin! I’m near you geographically, too! 🙂
Slow down. Think about what style of STD works best for you. Decide if you want to DIY it or buy it. From there, start browsing wedding blogs for ideas.
The Wedding Chicks blog has fantastic downloads that you can use. They are charming!
Oh Beautiful Paper is a stationary dream. They have pages of real examples of Save-The-Date Cards and lots of links to great stationary designers: http://ohsobeautifulpaper.com/
You can also find great Save-The-Date Cards on Etsy, Minted, and Wedding Paper Divas.

Im going with save the date magnets from Micheals!Envelopes come with it and on the back of the package it tells u of a website where they have templates for u to work with!U make it up online and just print it out at home. They even give u some samples to work with so u can get the printing right before u actually start printing on the magnets.
Plus they were only 10.00 for a pack of 30!!Cant beat that price!
Oh and definately getting the adresses is a very important first step too.

I JUST ordered my save the dates from Minted.com. They had pretty good selection/range of styles. I started collecting addresses last week, and Fiance promises he will finish getting his by August 8th. I plan to mail them out that week. =P
Also, save the dates usually go out 8-6 months before your big day so you have plenty of time!
