As nervous as I was going into David’s Bridal yesterday (I posted why on other thread) I ended up “ringing the bell” or “saying yes to the dress”…
But all night last night I couldn’t stop staring at the pictures of everything I tried on, although the dress I did pick is really pretty I just keep going back to the first one I insisted on trying on because it just sung “fun” and “personality” to me.
I am a plus size bride so I was very insecure in some of the dresses (any dress really… I do NOT like them and never wear them.. not even skirts haha) and most especially the strapless ones due to my underarms I just don’t like them at all…
Yea.. I’m a weird but people love that about me 🙂
Below is the one I said “yes” to. It is simple, plain, and says “wedding” to me.
However, on the ride home I didn’t feel excited, I didn’t feel like “omg this is it.. this is the one”. I kept looking at the pictures on my phone and kept going back to that first dress..
Last night again I went over and over and over again looking at the pictures of all the ones I tried on and I just got upset. I know I shouldn’t have.. but I showed my fiance all the pictures (he came to the appointment mid way through but left before I actually said yes to anything so he doesnt know which one I picked) to see what he would say. He made a couple comments on them, when he got to the one I picked he said “eh, dont care much for that one”.. 🙁
Luckily I am really good at hiding my feelings (life lesson, being bullied and whatnot in school) so I kept it cool and played it off still not letting him onto which one I picked..
So today, again, I look at the pictures and talk to my MoH through text and I just break down crying. I fear I may have the wrong choice.. I called the store to ask about returns and whatnot and I am planning on going again tomorrow to retry on the dress I feel is more “me” and that has “personality” more than “just a wedding dress”
So below is the one I am going back to try on. They only have it in 22 (I wear 18) so Im going to have them clap that sucker so I can see the full effect.. it does cost more but it is worth it if it makes this feeling go away!

Dress 1 looks amazing on you!!
Dress 2 is not nearly as flattering. I think you made the right choice, definitely.

Personally, I think the dress that you have already purchased is more flattering on you.

I hate it when I have to agree with dress doubts, but the second one really does have more personality, I think.
That said, part of what’s weird for me about dress #1 is that it looks like it doesn’t fit well in the bust- it’s kind of undefined. It’s a beautiful dress… do you that that with some alterations you might feel better about it?

Number 1 by a mile, number 2 makes you look a lot wider. Number 1 is lovely, and flatters your figure.

Look, you love what you love because you love it. If you love the second one, then get it, I say. You should be able to look like what your picture is of a bride.
I do like the second one more, it just makes you light up more 🙂

I think the new dress looks much better on you, I don’t the cut of the original dress is flattering in the middle. Good luck with either choice!

I am partial to the second one. I will be wearing Enzoani Fabi (google for pictures) so I really love the bottom of your dress.
Your face and entire body posture looks different in the second picture. Use your woman-ly inuition

#1 is a size 18 and the straps are an issue with me, they kind of hit on the shoulder instead of straight up, and I’m worried that the bust area will look odd because it fits good but in the picture it just doesnt look right to me
#2 is a size 22 so it’s not fitted to me like it should be, which is why I want to go back tomorrow to have them clamp, hold, tighten, whatever they have to make it fit more like an 18 so that way I can determine if I still have doubts.
I am just so torn between the two, I love them both

I find the first dress much more flattering on your figure: It highlights the narrowness of your waist & then flows away at the exact right point. The only thing is that it needs to be steamed (I think that’s what’s throwing some bees off).
The strapless on the 2nd one is already out of your comfort zone & honestly, I’m really not crazy about the ruffles.

I am torn. I like how number one makes you look so much smaller on top. Where number two gives you a beautiful defined waist but makes you look big on top.
I think with a couple alterations dress #1 would fit perfect and look stunning.

I like dress 1. If you want your attire to be more ‘interesting’, maybe find a statement necklace or great earrings to go with it.

I think the first dress suits you more. They are both pretty but I like the first one better!

I think dress #1 gives you a really nice shape and the neckline is super flattering– you look great in it! If you want the “fun” factor of dress #2 maybe experiment a bit with a different belt or jewelry as others suggested?
That said, I just changed my mind on a dress I had initially purchased and went with something that felt more special so I know the feeling– ultimately you have to go with the one that makes you the happiest!

I think number one is very flattering on you, I would stick with that one and maybe glam it up with a headpiece, shoes, jewelry, etc…
