So I made 2 mistakes…
1) Buying my dress 13 months before my wedding at the 2nd shop I visited
2) Continuing to think about and occasionally try on other dresses.
Basically, there’s still time if I act now, to get a different dress, and I guess…resell the one I already bought. I know I know, this is horrible, but I keep thinking this is the only chance I’ll have to wear a ballgown…and I chose A-line. I want to be sure. Sometimes I think my dress is too quaint and simple and that something more grand and romantic would suite me better. Othertimes, I like the idea of just doing something classic and more effortless, and maybe just dress it up with extra blingy drop earrings and a crystal hair comb or headband.
So please, tell me what you think…
a) My Dress, Romona Keveza

b) Amalia Carrera I’m liking now (please ignore how mean this model looks in it)
I’m going back into the bridal salon tomorrow to try on both side by side accessorized to make a final decision…

I love love love your dress! I wouldn’t change it. And as someone who recently had a little bit of dress regret for not getting a ball gown, once I put on my trumpet, I just knew.

The Romona Keveza is soooo beautiful! Please dont change your dress.

Can you try your dress with a fuller crinoline? It looks like it could accomodate a more ball gown shape.
That said, the skirt on the new dress is stunning!

In theory, I would almost always choose a ball gown over a “simple A-line.” HOWEVER, not in THIS case.
YOU have a Romona Keveza, and it is gorgeous! I honestly think it is much more elegant and photogenic than all of that detailing on the Amalia Carrera. Don’t get me wrong, the Amalia is a beautiful dress; however, I personally would like it better if it didn’t have as much detail.

Hey! You bought my dream dress! GGo with my RK dream dress!

Aah! You bought my dream dress! Go with the RK–it’s what I would have bought if I had an amazing, unlimited budget!

Thanks much for the support ladies. I will definitely feel much better now should I decide to stay with my current dress…which I probably will… it’s tough. Adding to the confusion is that I just saw another bride in my RK in a bridal blog, and the dress IMO just looks kinda meh in the pics. She looks happy and beautiful, the dress just doesn’t really show quite like I’m imagining I want to look. I don’t know, every dress is different on everybody… http://iloveswmag.com/2011/04/11/real-wedding-ashley-paul-part-i/
On the other hand the Amalia’s always look kind of brownish/contrasty in the ads, but in person all that detail is metallic, it’s much more just..sparkly
I really want my Fiance and my dad to be wowed…

@waitingwonderland: The RK is sick. The other one looks a little too princess-wanna-be. I think your Fiance is going to go weak in the knees when he sees you in the dress you already have.

The Romona is wayyyyy prettier! Keep it!

I voted Romona Keveza because it’s the best!!! It is so beautiful!

Well, if despite all of our support, you really are feeling “blah” about your RK, and you want more bling and volume, then you need to listen to your own heart. Try on a number of ball gowns, and not just the AC. Who knows? Maybe that journey will lead you to find a different ball gown that you hadn’t even considered, or it may confirm your desire to pursue the AC.

Oooh I really like the Amalia Carrera!! But you need to choose what’s best for you. Try your dress again, and I say try loads loads more on! One will scream “I’m the best” and get that one. Also, I wouldn’t try yours as the first, put it in the middle, try some others, some you like, some you’re not too sure on, try yours, and then a few others.

@waitingwonderland: Girl, your dress is ahhhmaaazing. Seriously, I love it!
