Hello all! Long time reader, first time writer lol. I am in serious need of dress help, I’m worried I settled for my dress too soon. This was the third one I tried on, and I loved it so much! It had so much of what I was looking for, and was so comfortable. I didn’t want to take it off. But looking at the pictures later, I’m starting to worry the skirt is too big and the overall look doesn’t suit me. I had originally wanted something with a more fitted bodice, and more lace through the skirt. I know the sample is the wrong size, so it’s hat for me to imagine it when it fits correctly lol. I’ve got another appt on Tuesday at a boutique, which I’m hoping will help make up my mind. I need some honest opinions please! thanks so much 🙂
it’s a David’s Bridal wg3711. (Sorry for the blurry pictures, my mom didn’t have her glasses on!)
I think it like the first belt best, with the silver details.

I think the dress looks great on you! Have you purchased it?

starjazz: I love it. It makes your waist look itty bitty. You look like you are glowing! I think it’s a great choice.

Not a big fan of the dress on you sorry.

starjazz: i love the top and it is more of a ball gown look so it’s going to look big no matter what. Also without the proper undergarments for the dress and fitting it will just look blah. That dress definitely needs a petticoat but that’s an easy fix. I think if you want something fitted you should Try some on. i am sure you will find another dress on Tuesday that you love (share pics when you do) and will help make up your mind. If you find yourself thinking of this dress still than it maybe what you want. a lot of brides go dress shopping with this vision and find themselves walking out in something completely different. I wanted a chiffon dress because i found one i loved. All i tried on was chiffon and i decided to just try on a satin dress to see if it was as heavy as i thought it would be. I ended up loving the fit that i started trying on satin and that’s what i got.

ah its lovely on you. i wouldnt worry.

Well you have to love it and while we may love it on you if you are having serious regrets then it maybe worth re-evaluating. I would go back on try on the sample again and see if you get the same feeling you did. If not then you may want to consider looking for a replacement.
Is it that you want a similar dress with lace detailing on the skirt? Or do you think you want to scratch the ballgown and go with something more fitting but with the illusion top?

Wow I really love it esp on you. And I’m usually not impressed with David’s bridal dresses bht I really like this one. It’s very elegant and flattering. Keep it!

starjazz: I love it, has a vintage feel but very classic. It’s a little different too with the lace overlay on the sweetheart neckline!

My honest optinion is that you look gorgeous in that very classic and elegant dress. With bouquet and acessories etc you will be the utimate bride. I love the way that the dress compliments you but does not overwhelm you. To put it a different way: you are wearing the dress, the dresss is not wearing you. You have made an excellent choice.

thanks so much for the feedback everyone :). I think part of my problem is that I have been dreaming of/pinning dresses for months, so now that I’ve potentially decided on one it’s kind of scary to let go of all the other options I know are out there. Plus I am absolutely horrible at making decisions :(.
jordmc24: I chose it but didn’t have the full payment on me, so I’m planning on going back this week after I’ve made my final decision.
Bridey77: thank you so much for saying that! I had a baby a little while ago, so anything that makes my waist look small is a miracle worker 🙂 haha
Bored6: thank you so much for being honest. I really appreciate it!
vanessa1357: funny thing is, this dress is supposed to be an a-line, but between my incredibly large hips and super shortness (I’m 5’2 on a good day) the skirt definitely looks big on me. In the first picture I am wearing a crinoline so I’ll make sure to get one. I will definitely share some pics from my next outing!
llussier: I think I’m mainly having regrets because I’m worried I made a decision too quickly — I honestly came out of the change room, took one look, and was in love. But the pictures don’t look nearly as good as in person, which worries me. I had been thinking more lace trumpet or fit and flare going in, but I have a feeling those may be out of my budget.
I really appreciate all your help, I am the most uncertain person I know! Haha

If you don’t mind me asking what is your budget? I maybe able to make some suggestions for lace trumpet/fit and flares in your price range if you decide to keep looking.

It is beautiful on you but I do think your original idea would look better, a little more fitted and with lace down the skirt as well. But I have a general preference for all-over lace, so … take my opinion as it is 🙂
