Hello there Ladies! HELP, HELP, HELP… I’m looking for bridesmaid dresses for my VERY diverse wedding party. The size of my girls range from a size 8 to a size 28; the height range is from 5’7″ to 6’3″. Anywho, I found a dress that I feel would look awesome on each girl… It’s the Dessy 2806 (pictured above). Would this dress be flattering and comfortable for my full-figured bridesmaids??? I am open to the option of having different dresses; but, I just really, really LOVE this dress! Of course, there aren’t many bridal salons or other businesses that carry plus-size dresses in Atlanta, so I am unable to see what style would look better on them. If the dress not work for my full-figured girls, I will just move on to the next because their confidence and comfortability matters most!
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I think that dress would be fine for a lot of different body types.
Did you ever think of getting different dresses for all the girls just the same color?

I love the dress; however, as a full figured gal myself, I know I would look horrible in that dress. I suggest looking for dresses with empire/wider/fuller waists and more of an aline.

I’m worried that the fabric may sit on some of the bigger girls’ curves, especially around the belly and hips, in a somewhat unflattering manner… It’s a beautiful dress, though.
Also, I think it may look somewhat shapeless if any of your girls are really busty. That looks like the kind of fabric that just hangs off the breasts like a curtain.

I’d recommend ordering different styles from the same collection in the same fabric and color that way everyone can get what works for them..that’s what my gals did!

I love that you are so concerned with your girls comfort levels! Its very nice of you. Not all brides are that considerate. Its a beautiful dress but I think its hard to say if it will work because it really depends on where they carry most of their weight. Otherwise, I like the ideas mentioned above. That’s what I did for my girls. Good Luck!

Is it chiffon? A friend of mine had to get a “clingy” dress like the one you have pictured and it is not flattering on her at all. She was very upset about the dress choice.
With that said, I love the dress.. but I think for full figured women you may want to go with a different option or even consider having them do the different dress thing.

I love the dress. I’d think maybe getting the same color in different styles, that way everyone can look their best,

I’m a plus size girl and I would not feel comfortable wearing that dress. If you truly want to make everyone happy (and comfortable) I suggest letting them choose their own dresses.

No on this dress due tot he sash placement. I’m not a 28, but being an 18 I know I NEVER want to wear a sash around my waste in that particular location because it draws attention to the widest part of my waste. If it higher it looks like a baby doll dress and I look pregnant. Any lower it does the same thing…pregnancy belly look. I know it may be hard to relinquish control over but pick the color and where you want the dress from and please oh please let the girls chose their own gowns. Your BMs will thank you!!

i had the same issues my bm are ranging size 0 and about 5″0 to size 28 and 5″6. i winded up letting them all choice a different style but same fabric, color, and length. my bigger bm loved an A-line empire waist. Wedding isnt till June so i dont have any photos for you sorry!!! but good luck!

as a person who has varied sizes myself, i’m not sure your original selection (although beautiful) would be best on everyone. specifically, once you get to a size 12+, you start not really having a waist. and that dress is for someone with a cute little waist to show off.
as a PP said, I agree with looking for something with an empire waist in an A-line. flattering on all silhouettes.

The only problem I see with this dress is that if any of your bridesmaids are big busted, they may not be comfortable in this dress. My Maid/Matron of Honor has an enormous bosom, and her one requirement for a dress was that she be able to wear a supportive bra under it. So her dress is a conservative halter dress with thick straps that will easily hide bra straps.
Talk to your girls. In the end, it will probably be easier for everyone if you just get different styles for everyone. It’s what we had to do, because the rest of my girls wanted strapless or one-strap dresses, and that wasn’t gonna fly with MOH!

It is a pretty dress, but I don’t think it would be flattering on a fuller figure. I agree with letting them pick the style. I was a Bridesmaid or Best Man in a wedding with 8 BM’s ranging from size 2-28 and it was impossible to find a style we all liked/felt comfortable with.

If you want all of the BMs to wear the same dress, I would suggest the one on the far left of the picture Ms. Locket posted. The dress you posted is not flattering to fuller figures b/c of the placement of the sash.
