I just moved into my first apartment with my fiance, and I’m trying to decorate.
The first picture is of the windows I need help decorating with curtains! The second picture is on the exact opposte wall, and I think it shows the color red a little better. I’ve got a black leather couch, and really dark wood furniture in the living room with the red walls. I’m thinking maybe a light gray curtain?
My main question is what to do with the smaller window on the white wall. Do I use the same curtain? It’s a smaller window, most windows have two panels of fabric, do I just use one panel? I don’t have a lot of pattern in the room, I am looking for some zebra print pillows for the couch.
This is my first time really decorating, so I’m clueless, any inspiration or advice would be wonderful.
Thanks so much!

You have a high contrast room- red, black and white. Normally, I am a neutral curtain kind of girl, but in this case you must be comfortable with color or you wouldn’t have chosen that red.
I would look for a print or a geometric that had red, grey, white and maybe black(the black is not necessary). If you can purchase matching fabric, you coould cover a couple of pillows wit the same fabric. That way it would look like you pulled the colors for the room from the fabric. For the other pillows, I would choose a geometric, like a quatrefoil, or a stripe.
I would do standard drapes on the red wall, hanging the rod almost as high as you can get it. I would pick a wooden rod that won’t stand out from the wall. I would do a roman shade in the same fabric for the window on the white wall as it looks like you plan on having your tv on that wall.

I would do very neutral drapes and put color into the sofa pillows instead. Crisp white drapes would look classy.

@bmb5260: I think wooden blinds would look nice with a valance at the top. Here is a couple pics I found for inspiration.

I second PPs suggestion of wooden blinds. We have them (well faux wood). And they look great.

i would do two panels for the big window and just one panel that can sit on the left side of the wall for the smaller window.

I don’t know how much you’re looking to spend, but crate and barrel has some nice (IMO) patterned neutral-ish colored curtains.
We have these and they look great on our navy wall. Great contrast without being too crazy.
