like all of you I am completely obsessed with Terrian! Everything about it! 🙂 I was looking for the same venue you are for our wedding in June 2012. I found the Carriage House at Rockwood Park DE and fell in love with it! The venue has a very rustic feel and you can get married outside in their gardens.
Its worth a look..its gorgous!

I just found THIS! http://www.thestonebarn.com/receptions.htm I hope you’ll let us know what you decide on!

@love108: Just a heads up, I checked out the Stone Barn for my wedding, as well. I could not have been less impressed. Not only was the manager late to our meeting and rude, rude, rude, but the facilities are really not as gorgeous as they appear in photos. The reception area could use renovating (or just a decor update…) and he wouldn’t even let us LOOK at The Mill building unless we could guarantee him 150 people. Couldn’t even look around inside. And my family is large enough that if I decided I loved that space, I would have filled the guest list. At the end of it all, the manager also left the meeting without saying goodbye and tore out of the parking lot without a backward glance.
Definitely check it out to see if it fits what you’re going for (the prices were very reasonable), but I had high hopes that were dashed very quickly. I ended up booking the Old Mill in Rose Valley, and I am so excited. It’s SO gorgeous and the caterers are extremely talented and professional. Check it out!

Hey, Don’t know if you found a venue but I am getting married at the John James Audubon Center at Mill Grove. There is a beautiful stone barn, outdoor pavilion, and even an apple orchard. Not sure how many people you are having because the caterer is more on the higher end of the price scale, so it may be difficult to keep it in your budget. Rental fee is $2000 I believe.

Any news on whether Terrain is actually a $10K venue fee? And do you really need to hire their decorators if you want to decorate? Thanks in advance!!

We put our wedding planning on hold for a while due to financial restrictions (hello, student loan payments coming due after graduation!) but are going to keep hoping that Terrain goes down in price. We’ve done some looking around at other venues while we’re trying to save and none have even peaked our interests a little bit. I guess when you find the “one” you know and ours was Terrain…we jsut can’t afford the crazy price tag. So if anyone does have more updated information about their prices, then I would LOVE to hear it!
As it stands now, we’re looking at a five-year engagement, which is depressing for me because I want to plan our wedding SO badly, but since we’re paying for everything ourselves, we have to face the reality of the fact that we don’t have adequate funds. Oh, to come from a family that would be able to afford to assist us…
Thanks for all of the replies, everyone. Further suggestions on locations are always appreciated, too! I have to keep an open mind since Terrain will probably never be a reality for me.

This was the price info I was given back in September for a terrain wedding. The capacity isn’t large enough for my daughter’s guest count, but I am having her Bridal shower there.

Bartram’s Garden isn’t exactly Terrain but it’s not too far off and you can use an outside caterer (they have a list so I’m not 100% sure if you can use your own) saving you $$.
