I have been obsessed with the Pronovias line, especially Metis and Ducado. My only draw back with the Metis are the sleeves, I am a crazy dancer and don’t want the dress limiting my fist pumping.

As a fellow petite bride (5′), I would recommend to try on the different styles. I thought I would do well in the princess style but that was not me AT ALL! Neither were mermaid or trumpets. But definitely A-lines were very flattering to my 5′ stature. Also the less design on the bottom, the better. It did not ‘cut me off’ visually. The eyes will keep flowing.

Speak as someone who tried on about 90 dresses…….

I can only say that I didn’t have that “one” moment, I just had a couple of dresses that I couldn’t stop thinking about. For me, that’s how I knew it was “the one”, so to speak.

Just based on your description of yourself, I wouldn’t recommend mermaid, but you probably would look good with trumpet or a-line

Enzoani does a lot of trumpet dresses. You may want to try that.

There’s a thread on here called ‘you in your dress’ that has about a hundred dresses in it, you should check that out for some extra dress porn :).  Sorry, I’m on my Droid and I’ve got no clue about how one would go about saving photos on here!

Everyone’s dresses are so pretty!

Here is my dress!  It is beautiful in person as well.  I ordered it a size up and just had it altered in all over.  Since it is a trumpet style – I could hardly walk or sit in it, lord knows I wouldnt be able to dance… so I ordered the size up so I would have more room on my lower thighs.!

@MissJay:

yay! I just love my dress. It is so different than what everyone is wearing lately.

Did you run across the same problem with the dress being a bit tight on the lower thighs?

Also – do you plan to bustle your dress? I can’t decide .. its just so pretty how it is!!

And are you wearing a veil ? I planned on just doing an orange ( my colors are persimmon/pumpkin and plum), pearl, and diamond broach with my hair up because I couldnt find a veil that looked good enough!

@klb2748:

No I didn’t have the problem with the thighs,  My problem was that the sample dress fit me everywhere BUT the bust.  I have a pretty big bust & extremley small hips.

I am not going to put a bustle on the dress.  I find that it doesn’t train long enough to bother me.  But I may decide differently once I actually get the dress!

I am wearing just a plain, simple ivory veil for the ceremony.  After that I may put some sort of brooch or flower in my hair for the reception.  I would love to see a picture of you in the dress when you get one!

Here is me in this dress… obviously it does not fit me quite as well as the model! It is a bit snug.

I am 5’5” — typical hourglass….I am working on my lower half and arms for the wedding so don’t judge!!

I wore two different dresses but my heart really belongs to my Romona Keveza. I wanted lace (real lace, not appliques), I wanted a ballgown or full a-line, I searched for months and nothing was good enough. I’d seen pics of this beauty but she wasn’t available on the market yet. I found her six weeks before the wedding and I made her mine!

@wings20:

I picked Benjamin Roberts 930 (only yesterday and deposit put down)

I first tried on an A line, an Augusta Jones ~ Tia. It made me cry but looking at the pictures of me in it after, I went off it. The straps made my arms look fat, The first two shops I went to, my first shopping day, none of the strapless dresses suited me and this deflated me a little. I’ve always loved Benjamin Roberts but after this first shopping day I knew my dream dress would be out of the question. The doubts got more prevalent so hence why I had a 2nd shopping day yesterday and the dress I chose was the first dress I ever fell in love with when looking on the internet.

You will know when it’s the one, I definetly did! Good luck!
