So I’m close to asking my bridesmaids to be in my wedding and I liked the idea of giving them some example pictures of what sort of dress Id like them to wear.
I actually like the idea of mix and match dresses. My wedding theme is sort of vintage gatsby garden party. My colors are meatllics, like rose gold and gold, along with blush and taupe shades.
I want to show them a few options that won’t break the bank. I love Adrianna Papell, but her dresses can run 300 bucks or more. I’d be willing to cover some of the dress if it fits my vision and the girls like the dresses.

Do you like Jenny Yoo dresses? I’m leaning towards them since it just feels so romantic to me. However, I’m letting my BMs pick the dresses they want as long as I like it on them and if it matches my garden/romantic theme. Her dresses are probably around the $240 – $280 range. You can find her dresses at Nordstrom and BHLDN. Her dresses normally come with convertible tulle straps so you can play around with the look a little bit. And they come in various shades. More shades are available on the Nordstrom site than BHLDN.
She has a lot of cute short dresses too, so check that out if it’s the look you’re going for.

Pretty, pretty. My suggestion is start with David’s Bridal. They have 100 shades of every color and many different styles and fabrics. They’re pretty basic, but it’s a good starting point.

My gals got their dresses from Alfred Angelo… and they have some really soft colors and a variety of dresses to pick from! They were all long chiffon, and less than $160 at the salon we got them at.

Omg thanks girls. Lots of great dresses. Love the Petra v neck gown. I really want them to sparkle and feel comfortable. So I’m going to give them the color scheme and let them choose a style they like best. Here are some inspiration photos I’ve found along with my dress.

Do they need to buy? Rent the Runway has gorgeous dresses. I will be telling my bridesmaids to rent from them since they can pick their own and get either two sizes or two different styles to try on in person when they arrive.

my issue with rent the runway is what if the dresses don’t fit, or its not an attractive style on their body. The dresses won’t arrive until a day or so before the wedding if I remember how rent the runway works, then they won’t have time to find another option.
I like the concept, just worried about the logistics. Plus, and I know every bride says this and it never happens, but if they bought the dress they could wear it again. Maybe to a new years party or something formal. Most dresses are about a 100 to rent vs another hundred just to buy and own. Maybe reuse at an ugly bridesmaids dress party one day! Haha.
