Yeah, you need to tell them to fuck off. This is crazy! But the dress is pretty!

It’s definitely not Casablanca 2201, that’s my dress, and OP’s dress is not the same.

It closely resembles a Stella York, though. But the dress is beautiful. The store sounds crazy! And that’s very frustrating that they won’t even tell you the designer. I can understand wanting to make a sell and all..but still.

Have you tried to reserve image search the sample on you and see if anything else comes up?

I was just searching some more, but it may be this Essence of Australia gown.

Its a lovely dress but a very popular style, you should have no difficulty finding one pretty much the same if you can’t  find  that exact one. It may be the Essence Of Australia though, that gracendrake found.

PS, looks MUCH  better with no belt . And the shop doesn’t deserve your custom, ridiculous creatures .

Hi! Dresses like that are very popular, so I think you’ll have no trouble finding that or something very similar. The store’s practices sound really shady. You deserve to know what you are purchasing. And not letting you come back to take another look until you pay in full is beyond. Can you get your deposit back?

I got my dress from a local designer who also wasn’t very friendly. They forbid me to take a photo of the dress to send to my mother (who lives far away) even after I had paid in full. It still leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Go elsewhere, you deserve a better experience!

It’s definitely the Essense of Australia D2224! I knew as soon as I saw the lace pattern, it’s gorgeous! Have you tried the D1846? The lace on the skirt and train as well as the shape are very similar and (at least in the UK) it runs £200 cheaper than the D2224.  Good luck 🙂

Hmm that store sounds super shady; I don’t think I would purchase anything from them.

A PP mentioned that it looked like a Sottero and Midgely dress, and I agree it has that look, but I looked on their website and couldn’t find an exact match. I did find several VERY similar dresses though. Maybe try a different boutique and see if one of them has a similar dress? Here are some examples:

Phillipa- https://www.maggiesottero.com/sottero-and-midgley/phillipa/10250

Ellington- https://www.maggiesottero.com/sottero-and-midgley/ellington/10217

Ireland- https://www.maggiesottero.com/sottero-and-midgley/ireland/9856

Good luck!

That’s incredibly shady and makes me wonder if they’re jacking up the prices. No reputable boutique should be able to do that. That’s insanity. You can’t make an appointment to see the dress you put a deposit on until you pay the full price?!!!! What the everlasting hell? People on the bee go back to boutiques all the time without making a commitment. Most boutiques know that’s a lot of money to just throw down and assumes brides will come back a few times to see if they like a dress.

Get your money back and never return. That dress isn’t extremely unique you can find it at a better boutique.

krystinebee :  This is bullying – it’s not fair for them to not let your dad see the dress unless you pay more. WALK AWAY. You may lose the deposit (and you can tell them that it’s because of their shoddy customer relations that you won’t be purchasing from them), but it’s not worth them ruining your wedding day. Red flags all over.

krystinebee :  get your deposit back – that place sucks. You don’t want to keep dealing with them for the next several months!

That is super shady of them and terrible business practice. It’s like expecting someone to walk into a car dealership and buy a car without disclosing the manufacturer. Crazy and unreasonable! I too would get your deposit back and leave an honest Yelp review about your experience. Other brides should know!

That dress looks REALLY similar to mine! Mine was Allure – I would go through their website and see if you can find it (many are very similar)

My bridal store was kind of sketchy too about telling me who it was, but when they realized I wasn’t looking to score it cheaper elsewhere, I simply wanted to know, they told me. I remember it was Allure, but i would have to go back and look to find the model number.

My belt was similar but not the same. I think it was about the same width though. I want to say it was Mori Lee, but I am not 100% sure on that either.
