Try goldandgems.com! Their price is very reasonable and Ron can pretty much work with whatever kind of ring you want. You can get the amora gem directly from them. Also, since they’re based in Oregon, they have no sales tax 😀

Ashas are beautiful but are not very durable.  I would do Amora.  It’s more expensive but it’s still just a fraction of the cost of a diamond, and it will last forever.  You have intentions to replace with a diamond someday, but you might not actually want to do that once that time comes, and you might be forced to with an Asha.

Try the Betterthandiamond forums.  They have a ton of information on both.  http://betterthandiamond.com/discussion/

There are also several threads on WB about Ashas, like this one.  http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/asha-durability/

ringseeker:  You can email [email protected] and put to attention Chris(he’s SO extremely helpful) and explain to him what you’re looking for. I was going to order the Novo replica setting and just have a 1.5 carat round Amora moissy put into it, but happended to ask if there was a gem available in the approxqimate size I was looking for. He replied very timely and let me know that there was indeed an amora gem in the approximate size I was looking for(1.62carat-little bigger than a 7.5mm round/F color/SI1). He advised me that it was eye clean and beautiful, so I went for it and will FOREVER be grateful I did! I’ve had it since April 13th and have yet to see a flaw, even upon magnifying and staring at it. It is the most beautiful ring and I ended up going with diamond side pave stones and glad I did that. I already have a moissy pave set and it wasn’t until I put them side by side, that I could tell the difference. The gem and diamond sides are a HIT! Just wanted to let you know that if you find a setting on Moissaniteco.com, you can have them set a gem of your choice in it. Just email them and let them know what you’re looking for and they’ll end up putting together an order page and email it to you. You will then click on the link after checking to make sure it’s right on target and purchase it from there. Hope you get the set of your dreams!!! 😉

amieslayton:  I just replied to the main OP, but I LOVED dealing with Moissaniteco.com. You can email them and they’ll look and find whatever stone you’re interested in and set it for you. They purchase directly from BTD. Happy shopping, please post pics when it’s all said and done! 😉

Arae83 :  hi there! I’m also looking at Amora gems in a cushion cut. I already picked out my setting – Verragio 918CU. Did you have a problem getting a jeweler to set the Amora gem with the Verragio?

Thank you in advance 🙂
