maybe buy some tule and then hand apply crystals to a ribbon with scalloped edges then a fabric flower or petals?

@cwat12:  That is how I was going to suggest. Essentially, cut a piece of tulle in the right shape and length. Sew a ribbon at each end that can be tied at the base of your neck. Find crystals with a sewable back (Or, if your really handy with a glue gun that might* work too). Then, apply the the feathers/leaves in the same fashion. Good luck!

Beautiful headpiece. Can you link us to it?

Good luck making it. It’s gorgeous.

@BettyKnocker:  remember to do a search for rhinestone or crystal appliques. You can find pieces that are ready made so you don’t have to glue each piece on individually.

You can find these at fabric, craft or bead shops.

I think you can do it! just try to find a cute applique that will be the hardest part and perhaps sandwich the tulle between the applique and a piece of felt or fabric

@BettyKnocker:  Hi, I saw this too but can’t afford the hefty price tag- how are you getting on with making one? What grain of Tulle did you get, do you know?

Any successes/ disasters much appreciated!

I’m getting married on the beach in may and think this would be perfect 🙂

I made a similar headband for a themed party I went to some time ago. I originally bought a cheap rhinestone headband but wasn’t too satisfied with it. So I tore off the rhinestones and hot glued it to a piece of leftover lace. In your case, you could switch it for tulle. I stuck some feathers on the side. Then hot glued the whole thing back to the headband (it was a thin black metal band. not the elastic kind that goes around the head) and glued a piece of felt cut out to the shape of the rhinestones, under the headband so that the underside of the rhinestones are covered and it is better secured to the heaband.
