So this is *kind of* a spinoff from another thread. I forgot there were a lot of lawyers and legal bees on this site and I was hoping for a bit of information. I don’t know if it would technically be considered legal advice or not I don’t think so, just direction really?
So my ex husband and I had our divorce finalized two years ago. In the papers it said for 12 months after the paper I was not responsible for providing transportation for his visitations with my daughter (he lives about 12 hours away) because I lost my car in an accident and didn’t have the means to get a new one at the time. Everything was fine and his lawyer said I could extend it if needed, shouldn’t have listened to the lawyer going against me because now I’m stuck.
It’s not that I don’t have a car, I wish it was that easy. But less than a year after the papers were final I had a seizure. Than I had another. And in South Carolina after a seizure your license is suspended for 3 years after the last seizure. So I can’t drive now until atleast May 2nd 2015. And my ex just doesn’t care that I have no way to drive anywhere and insists I find a way. So I need to take it to court I just don’t know how to start the legal process, like what papers to fill out and such. No one seems to know, I’ve been down to the court house and..
I thought maybe I could fill out the papers against myself, you know the ones where the parent doesn’t hold up their end of the papers, but the lady at the court house said that wouldn’t be a good idea. I thought maybe fill that out and fight my case but I don’t want to screw myself over.
So are there any forms or what do you do in a situation such as this to get it to court?
