I was between a 16-18 as well and had the same issue.  I ordered a 16 and although its a little tight in the hip area it fits.  They are pretty damn forgiving, so I don’t think there is a need to worry.

I’m a size 18, ans honestly, I felt beautiful in every Maggie gown I tried on. Here are just three taht i took pictures of:

First, Adelaide….

Then, AD330 (at least I think that’s what it’s called)….

(I edited this one because I was making a weird face here)

And finally, my chosen gown, Vienna!

It fit!  And they said if I lose any more in my hips I might have to get it taken in, even!  Woohoo! ๐Ÿ™‚  I’ll post pictures when my fiance isn’t sitting right next to me lol.

Just thought I would share, in case someone else comes into this thread down the line worried like we were… it fit great!  In fact, like I said above they said it may have to be taken in a bit at the hips, especially if I lose more weight (which I plan to).  I’m glad I got the 16 and not the 18, now!  My only lingering self confidence worry is about my arms/back fat.. but I’m hoping that a few more months of exercise will help ease those.  But, regardless, it does FIT and looks good!

Yay!  So glad to see a happy ending!  I was worried much like you!  I ordered the same size as you (even though they suggested I order one up) and dropped weight before the wedding.  I was so worried waiting that it could be too small or too big…it was perfect though and I prob could have gotten away with a size smaller since the corset was tied nearly as tight as it could go.

Thanks everyone!!  I’m super excited about it!  And SO relieved!!! ๐Ÿ™‚  I can’t wait to share pictures from the wedding when I’m all done up and she’s been altered to hit every curve properly!

@thelovecats: Thanks again for starting this thread!  It gave this worried bride a place to come vent when the bridal-crazies got to me! ๐Ÿ™‚

@thelovecats: (Didn’t see your reply until just now!)

Aww, thanks; I wish I were a size 8! (Honestly, you just totally made my day, lol.

All of the Maggies that I tried on made me feel great. I don’t know when I decided this, but I’ve known for a long time that I wanted my wedding gown to be a Maggie Sottero. I tried on several dresses at David’s Bridal, too, though, and hated almost every one I saw. What I loved about Maggie’s dresses, though, is that in all of those pictures, I wasn’t wearing any shapewear at all. It was just me, and they still looked great!

I did have a hard time choosing between Adelaide and Vienna, but I’m very happy with my decision. The Vienna cost almost twice what the Adelaide did, but what can I say? It was “the one!” I love lace, too. ๐Ÿ™‚
