Did you ask your venue if they have one you can "rent" onsite?

I’m not using them, but I believe Dream it Events does DOC work for about $700…a little over your budget, but after much searching, they are the cheapest I found.

I just gave this advice to another poster, but it might help you as well.

1.  Call some local planners and tell them your amount and see if they will negotiate.

2.  Place an ad on Craigslist under Gigs>Events.   Give your date, amount and requirements.  You may get a lot of responses, just be sure to interview and talk with the candidates.  Ask for resumes or references.

3. See if any of the local colleges who have event planning/management classes could refer students.

I hope this helps

<pre style=”white-space: -moz-pre-wrap”>Our Best Friend’s wedding is based out of the Bay Area and they do great work. Natalia, one of the coordinators, used to work in my office and she is great. Very organized and has a great eye for detail. I have helped her with a few weddings and have always seen her handle everything that is thrown her way. I am not sure about prices but I think she is fairly reasonable. http://ourbestfriendswedding.com
