So I originally thought that I would get gifts for my parents and FI’s parents after seeing them on Pinterest and stuff. I thought it would be a nice little “thank you”. Well now I realize that it’s going to be a lot more people than I originally thought because both of our parents are divorced and remarried. So here’s the situation:
My mom/step-dad are paying for majority of the wedding
My dad/step-mom are paying for a portion (albeit much smaller)
FI’s dad/step-mom are paying for a portion (similar to my father)
FI’s mom is paying for nothing.
The problem is my original idea was to get personalized hankies for my mom, dad, FI’s mom, and FI’s dad. But now I feel like the step parents are going to feel left out…even though we’re really only super close to my step-dad. So I’m not sure what to do. I thought getting gifts for 4 parents was ok, but for 7??? Not so happy about that.
Should I combine gifts? Like give them something as a “couple” type gift. But then I feel like it’s not as personal/thoughtful. Ughhh, so torn.
