- Wedding: June 2014
Our ushers are my little brother, FI’s little brother, and two of FI’s really close friends (yeah, four. Our guests will be the most well-sat guests ever).
Fiance got his groomsmen a pair of socks for the wedding, a tie clip (so not really gifts), and a gift pack of small-batch liquors – it’s a nice wood box engraved with an image of the distillery, and three glass flasks with moonshine, chocolate whiskey, and a bourbon – they’re really cute and perfect for the guys. But…they were nearly $100 each, so we couldn’t afford to get them for everyone…
Now, in an mildly interesting twist, if I had more close friends, the two friend-ushers would have been groomsmen. Neither of us are close to our brothers, so they were always ushers.
Any ideas on good gifts? Boys are so difficult to buy for, and especially this group of guys. My brother is 23, a full-time waiter, into computer games (I think), pot, and in general being obnoxious. He’s kinda hipstery. FI’s brother is just a kid – lives at home, works PT at a video game store. Friend one is in med school, but loves to party – kind of still stuck in that college mentality. Friend 2 works as a landscaper and is probably an alcoholic.
I’d like to do something better than just a gift card, but…I just have no idea what and Fiance has even less of an idea than I do. We’re thinking maybe some bluetooth speaker? Or maybe personalized steak brands for the two friend ushers and speakers for our brothers? Our target spending range is around $50.
