@brighteyedgirl:  congratulations!  this should be a fun time for you but i know that it gets sooo overwhelming.  you have already done the big stuff; date, dress, venue and colours.  if your Fiance is too busy with work (and that happens), just make these appointments and go with a family member or bm’s for some imput.  the internet is great for ideas.  google navy and grey weddings and ton of ideas come up in the images.  i did it.  this may get you excited and narrow down what you like and also, what you don’t like.

where are you getting married in ON? maybe i can refer some vendors for you. (you can PM me with that info)

You should look at pinterest for inspiration ideas! It’s a great website and the wedding/events page is full of ideas!

I’m planning pretty much all by myself also, I feel your pain. Though I’m hainvg trouble narrowing down my ideas 😛

I considered doing silver and navy and framing the decorations in a nautical theme (not like anchors and fish or anything, more like navy stripes, possibly using braided rope in the deco’s :P)

Nautical theme might also fit your not super formal tone.

I LOVE the grey and navy idea, those colors give you TONS of options to work with. If your Fiance doesn;t really have a strong opinion either way, I would go check out the florist yourself. Print off a bunch of pictures of what you like (doesn’t have to be exactly what you want for the day) and bring them in with you. Getting the flowers and boutonieres settled might help you with other theme ideas. If your getting your florist to do the centerpieces also, thats a huge chunk of your to-do list done!

Seeing as yoru wedding is in 7 months, I would nail down an officiant and a florist very soon. Summers tend to fill up fast. Your sweety may have to meet with the officiant also, so make apts on his next day off (or evening/morning off, whatever it takes!) to talk to an officiant.

Hope that helps a bit!!! Dont stress out to much, this should be a fun time!
