CelticBeachBride:  Indochino is an online service; you don’t have to go there.  But, I wouldn’t reccomend them.  If you get a suit made from an online maker, The Black Lapel (http://www.blacklapel.com) is, by all accounts I’ve read, the best.  It should be less than $1000; probably in the $850 range.

We went through mens wearhouse because our groomsmen and fathers rented through them so we got 500 off my husband’s suit. His was grey and he looked amazing! He is a football player and is 6’6″ and 300lb but is slim around the waist so we could not rent either or else he would have looked 50lb heavier! Here is a picture for reference. We paid 125 for alterations and THAT WAS IT! (the suit was 850 on sale for 475 so we piad nothing for the suit).

CelticBeachBride:  Wait, you’re in LA? Have you been to the fashion district yet? They have suits and tuxes for CHEAP, and getting them tailored down there is also inexpensive. LA is one of the only places in all of the US where you will actually be able to do this cheaply. With fashion district prices, you can afford to buy two totally different sized suits and have the top of one and the bottom of the other be fitted to him.

Suit Outlet in Oxnard, CA (Ventura County) has a bespoke option. My Darling Husband is 6’6″ but has 39″ arms so we really thought it was going to be an issue.  While he didn’t end up buying, we got his tux from Friar Tux and he looked dashingly handsome!  We were both really pleased with the outcome.

Having worked at a bridal/tux store, it’s ok if he’s in something different than his groomsmen.  They could always rent.  Jim’s FormalWear has some awesome grey options.

Nay1976:  I would be wary of an outlet selling “bespoke.”  It is much mre likely that it’s MtM – not to say there’s anything wrong with that, as long as it’s priced appropriately.

Burlington coat factory sells tux separates and they also carry big and tall. My husband has also has a non regular body issue, he is tall, super skinny, but has thick thighs and forearms. All his groomsmen are built like my dh too. Suits cost us, with shoes and shirts, around 130 plus tailoring.

Duncan:  My Fiance order his tux from there this past weekend. I really hope it turns out well!

CelticBeachBride:  My Fiance is also tall (6’5″) but is a very slender build. He has to buy all of his shirts made to measured and gets everything altered. After a lot of research, he missed the deadline to get a MtM stour favorite place here (but it also would have been 2k). So – Black Lapel it is! They have a much shorter turn around than most places, which is great!
