I am in the same boat, I have a round face and all hairstyle pictures show people with narrow faces so it never looks right on me.  I think I have decided to wear my hair half up, the part that is down will make my face at least look more narrow.

I am also interested to see pictures of real bees on here with round faces and what their hair looked like.

Deep breaths. Hair was totally the bane of my planning to and I procrastinated on it SO much.

Have you got a good relationship with your stylist? Can you go in and just talk about what would suit your face? I have a more rectangle

face and I wore my hair half down/half up but what my stylist did was curl my hair and then pull my curls back over my head so it cascaded down my back and created what looked like a mini beehive at the top (sorry – it’s not the best description!). It made my face look quite long and thin!

This is the best pic I have of the front at the moment – I hope it helps!

How do you usually wear it?  Maybe just a jazzed up version of your normal hairstyle.

littlemissmoo is right.  Definitely go for a bump in the front, on top of your head.  It creates the illusion of height.  Also, round-faced girls who was to optimize the illusion of length should always have longer hair.  The long hair pulls down a viewer’s eyes past the chin so that your face seems elongated.  Also, long hair can narrow out the width of your face.  Charice Pempengco is a singer who has a totally round face.  She always has long hair:

Check the before and after.  Part of her newly narrowed face is the result of botox to make her face appear less round, but you do what you can.

If you hate bumpits, I can also refer you to Selena Gomez, an upcoming teen singer.  She also has a round face, but captilizes on volume just above her forehead.  Not a bump, per se, but just a volumized swathe of hair teased sideways.  This picture actually shows her with a side ponytail that would look great for a wedding style:

Hope that helps.

What I always do is google a celeb that has a similar face shape to me. I have more of a heart shape but it’s always helped me decide on how to cut or style my hair. Hope that helps.

Here are a few Celebs I found:

Isla Fisher

Taylor Swift

Hayden Panettiere

Do half-up half down, I have a round face, and full-ups made me look like a football player or something… I’ll try to load one of mine…

@MsAqua: I totally agree with your methodology.

Michelle Williams, Reece Witherspoon, Kirsten Dunst all have round faces.  It seems the common theme is to leave some hair on or around your face

another pic of taylor swift, I used this hairstyle as inspiration for a bridesmaid hair style and loved it

I have a roundish face like yours.  Selena Gomez also has a beautiful round face so you can look at her hair.  I will wear my hair parted a little off to the side with kinda a side bang. Then I will wear my hair down around my face and very sleek with curls at the bottom of my hair. but pull some of my hair to the back and backcomb it up to give my face some height.

I have a round face and i got bangs esp for the wedding to frame my face.  otherwise I agree with the half up half down styles works best.  I don’t have a good pic of the hair yet since wedding was just last week but this is the best view I have from the front.  I added one from the side.

Not only am i a graphic designer im a hair stylist aswell 🙂 my advise to you is that as a professional, ask your stylist what they suggest would look nice on you for your face shape. have faith in his or her abilities…i know that there are so many hairstyles out there, you need something unique and well suited to you to bring out the best in your features 🙂 most salons have books to look at. I would suggest to bring tons of pictures with you and discuss with your stylist what would work for you.

I’m a round faced girl. Round faces look best with long hair (elongates the face) or if not long, make sure there’s height of some sort at the crown and its sleek on the sides (again, makes the face more long & narrow).

I love Hayden’s hair like this

Ugh I can’t stand it when people say things like, it’s just hair, it’s your wedding day!  Hello! You have to look at those pictures for the rest of your life!  People should just keep their comments to themselves when it comes to brides and their big day!  I do think that the half up half down is a good option for you, it definitely thins out the face.  I did it for my wedding day, and my face is quite long and I was worried it would look too long so we had to not pull too much back to leave my face looking fuller.  In your case you could pull more back….I think it’s a great option for you!
