The easiest thing of course is to hire someone to do it, if your budget can handle it.

If not, are there family members or close friends you can ask?The best way is to get them up before the caterer brings in the tables. If you can rent a cherry picker or scissor lift, it makes the job much easier.

You could consider asking your ushers to do it and maybe some close family?

I would speak to your caterer and the tent rental company.  They surely have experience with this exact issue and can give you some ideas.

Since you do have the day before open, could you and some tall uncles/cousins head in there with a ladder?

Or you could pay the people with the tent rental a bit more to help?  I know budget is an issue, but it might be worth a bit of cash in the long run to have someone else who’s experienced to help with laddering and such and relieve you of some stress.

Also, I wouldn’t worry about hanging each one individually at different lengths.  I have seen brides string a few up on one piece of rope across a tent, and it creates a nice effect with the ones in the center dipping down a bit, so they’re not all at one level anyway.  So you could do a few pieces of string or wire across the tent and fix it that way?

Hope any of this helps – good luck!
