I need some help. My venue starts to book rooms for 2013 in January and opens the booking to the first bride of the weekend for the month of January. Once January is over, then the next bride gets their pick. I am the first bride for my weekend, but I don’t know how to get the word out to the guests. I am planning to put a little accommodations card in with the save the dates, but the save the dates will be going out closer to September (I want people to know about our wedding date before they plan their summer vacations).
Here’s the problem: I don’t expect people to put it on their calendars that they have to book a room in January for my wedding, but they only have a month to book and guarentee that they get rooms. January is way too early to put out invitations.
How do I remind the guests that they need to book their rooms? I have thought about sending out a reminder post card, but that’s about all I came up with. Do you guys have any ideas?
