The above picture is the only dress I tried on in “ball gown style”….
My dress below that I purchased, right is in May and left is in August!
Hey ladies! I finally decided I need some help from the girls on wedding bees, I’ve been looking at these posts forever but finally decided to join! I’m having a little buyer’s remorse with my dress from Alfred Angelos! I absolutely loved my dress when I bought it, but when I put it on in the store last weekend I was very disappointed. It didn’t feel like the first time I tried it on and I felt like it looked every different! I’m the same size I was when I purchased it in May ( unfortunately lol) Anyways maybe it was the consultant, the first consultant used clips to fit the dress to my body because it was a size too big and had me wear a fitted corset bra ( not sure what it’s called and the corset completely came together on the dress) so we ordered a size down. ANYWAYS it just doesn’t look the same and it’s too big on my right hip ( I realize that can be adjusted/ altered) but I guess I’m just really disappointed!
I’m thinking about trying to order this Maggie Sottero dress in Esme, I LOVE IT! ( bottom picture – sorry I took this from one of the other posts to show y’all!) They said it would be in early December if I put a rush on it! There is basically nowhere in Texas or Oklahoma with this dress over a size 12 and that definitely wont fit. How would a dress like that look on a plus size girl like me? I’ve included a picture of the top dress that I almost bought, it was the bridal party favorite and a similar style to the Esme dress but I didn’t like the longer bodice on it.
Thanks for reading this post, I know it was long! Hopefully some of y’all can help me out, I’m definitely upset and in need of advice of what I should do! I really appreciate it!
Should I keep the dress or try to order the maggie and wing it?

Welcome! In my opinion, it is better to go with a dress you have tried on – and in your case I think the dress you tried on, and bought, is very flattering. So my vote is to keep the lovely dress you have!

do a bigger sash on your dress to get the bling effect – your dress is pretty

I agree try a larger sash with the dress you purchased. It really does look lovely on you (and I won’t tell a bee that unless I mean it). I don’t think you will be as happy with a new dress as you think, especially for all the work and rushing. Good luck!

The dress you bought looks amazing on you, in both pictures of it.

I really love the dress you bought! I do not like the first dress. Stay with your dress! It looks beautiful on you.

Both dresses are gorgeous! I think if you want the second one then go for it! It looks very figure flattering. I’m having my own dress war in my brain and I keep thinking it is the only time I am getting to wear an expensive gown and one day for my only wedding. I would go all out- it might be hard to take the chance but alterations will make it gorgeous just for u!

@glitterdiva: I think the dress you bought has the most flattering shape for your figure. You look great in it! Stop the regret! 🙂

@glitterdiva: I love that dress that you are hankering over. It is a stunner.
But the dress that you bought is so cute on you! It’s flirty and pretty and very flattering. The photo of you in the first ballgown–not so flattering.
Stick with the one you’ve got. And stop looking at dresses.

@glitterdiva: I think the drss you bought is more flattering than the ball gown picture. It does look different between the May and August photos, but maybe that is just the fit. Have you had it altered yet?

I love the dress you have, and I think you look even better in the August pic than in the May one! When I got my dress in, I had major dress regret because it didn’t fit, but once it fit correctly, I felt awesome. Trust me, alterations go SO far in making you feel beautiful!
