Ask your photographer if they can send you a smaller compressed set of images more suitable for FB and websites. My photographer sent me huge ones and another CD of smaller compressed images, which I promptly just uploaded to Picasa and sent our families the links.

@lubinandjess: Most photographers will give you files to use on the web (usually has their logo/watermark on it & are smaller sized), however not all photographers do that. I would ask your photographer if they have any images for web use & go from there. Hopefully they’ll have something for you soon 🙂

Photographers pay $$$ to sites to make those snazzy slideshows.
I would recommend Flickr. You can post photos full-size, and people can download the ones they want from the site. I can’t remember what the storage limit on the free accounts is – you’ll have to check into that (the upgrade to unlimited isn’t very expensive though). You could also size your photos down (google it) to make them faster to upload to your own personal website.
Or, you could go the snail mail route – burn DVDs of the pics and mail them to your family.

Another vote for Picasa! You can store full-res images there and people can download whole albums with one click, instead of having to save one by one like on Shutterfly or Flickr.

@crayfish: it’s 200 photos on flickr for a free account.
