GORGEOUS Dress… CONGRATULATIONS !!

You might want to look up a Wedding Dress Preservation Service in your area (usually done by highend Drycleaners)

Usual Preservation Post-Wedding costs alot, because it also includes Drycleaning (and drycleaning a Wedding Gown is very expensive)… BUT it is worth a call… ask them what they’d charge you without the Drycleaning portion

The thing is about Preservation Services is they’ll do the job right (I mean they are organized so that a Bride can keep her dress pretty much forever… or at least until a Daughter might want to wear it).  They put it in a box, with non-staining tissue paper… in this way the Dress “can breathe” (very important).

You could store you dress on your own in a Fabric Dress Bag (absolutely NO PLASTICS) or make a make-shift bag out of a large clean sheet… as I said you want your dress to breathe.  BUT neither of these options won’t guarantee that the dress won’t fade or yellow over time… only Professional Storage / Dress Preservation will make that happen.

Hope this helps,

Hi!

I bought my dress 18 months before my wedding and left it in the bridal gown bag until two days before my wedding to let it air out.  I did not have any problems with discoloration or anything like that.  Im not sure if the fabric of the gown will make a difference.  My gown was made out of silk.
I do agree that you will want your dress to breathe and stay away from plastic gown bag.  Mine was a fabric gown bag, you can easily buy this where they sell suit/dress bags.

Good luck!

I had my gown for about two years before I got to wear it too! I even travelled with it! I purchased a 60 inch long garment bag and put the gown in it. Two days before the wedding I sent it off to get steamed. It looked perfect on my wedding day!
