Ok so my dilemma is bridesmaids/groomsmen gifts. My mom says “u dont need to spend so much on them, u paying a lot for the wedding”. Which is true, but i believe i should showappreciation to our wedding party. Here is my list of ‘gifts’ for them: Bridesmaids- “custom” totes, rhinestone flipflops, wedding jewelry, an ’emergency kit’ and a DIY custom hanger. Groomsmen- string bags, personalized socks, t-shirt and an ’emergency kit’. Then everyone will get a monogram wine glass. Bees Am i doing too much?? Oh and most of this will be DIY (love crafts).

We have 16 people in our bridal party so set a budget of no more then $30 per person. The groosmen are receiving monogrammed coolers and the bridesmaids are receiving custom clutch bags from Etsy made in the same material as their bridesmaid dresses with their name embroidered inside the bag. I have been SO tempted to purchase additional gifts including custom wine glasses and custom hangars but really need to keep to our budget so have resisted. If you are doing most of this DIY I imagine the cost of all these gifts is more affordable so best of luck!

This sounds like more than enough. The gifts don’t need to be fancy, crafty creations. They just need to be heartfelt and personal!

@missylw2000: That sounds like a lot!! I contributed to the cost of the dresses for my BMs (that was $50 each) and I still plan on getting them jewelry for the wedding day and something small and personal, except I have not decided what this small and personal thing will be!

It sounds like you really are about and apprecieate your bridal party– they will enjoy the gifts. How much you spend is what’s comfortable for you. I spent about $50/ea on my attendants and Fiance is looking to spend about $150/ea for his; but it’s what he wants to do for them.

I’m probably out ofthe norm, but I say if you can afford it, there is nothing wrong with it. We went a little crazy with everyone — probably $125 for each person in our wedding party, but we only each had 3 people standing up. We really wanted to show them our appreciation for being a part of our lives and everyone had to travel for our wedding, so it was a way to say thanks.

Thanks for the input. Overall i’ll end up spending around $20-25 each. The supplies will be bought in bulk so i,m getting some great deals off ebay, oriental trading etc.

$20-25 is definitely not too much….especially when they are paying for tux/dress and what not for your day.
