i vote #3. its unique but at the same time has an elegant look. Im not a fan of #!. The small Braid seems to take away from the solitaire. It could just be that specific braided band. #2 although pretty defin takes away from the main stone with the others on the side.
If you cant try them on, i would reccommend going into a jeweller and at least seeing similar options in person. You never know sometimes seeing things in front of you completely confirms or changes your mind.
Whatever you pick…just remember its your decision and its something you will wear forever… so whatever makes you happy is what matters.

I prefer the first one. I think the band is amazing.

helloyestoast :  the braid band looks nice but the erings looks odd. The leaf one is just can’t place in like er dislike.  However the branch one instantly drew me on,  so I voted branch. You would get a lovely plain white band and a yellow or rose spacer with some sort of flower detail .

I voted for #3 as I feel like it’s a good combination of classic and unique.

helloyestoast :  I never saw a grey diamond but it might work. the color stones could also be the month of your wedding/anniversary or the month of your first date together, the month he proposed, the month you met for the first time etc. It could be about anything that means to something to you.

Your 3 rings options are all nice in their own ways. Let us know when you have made your final decision 🙂

helloyestoast :  I voted for number 2 and think it’s the best. It’s classy and elegant while still being unique. Special, but not in-your-face obvious. Why don’t you ask about having the band made less thick, if this concerns you?

I really dislike the branch ring, which is funny because I normally love branch rings. In fact I nearly chose a ring cast from a twig for my own engagement ring! But this one to me is ugly, the way the branches come out in a lopsided clump from the base of the ring is awkward, and the way they overlap looks messy to me. Something about the distance between the branches vs their width vs the stone size…or maybe the way the one branch seems to kinda stick out beyond the stone’s sides… I’m not entirely sure what’s wrong but it’s aesthetically unpleasant. If you want a branch ring I’d keep looking, there are more elegant options. But obviously just my opinion (& a minority one, it seems), go with what you like most.

Also I prefer platinum, same as you (physics background!), so that’d be a major factor in my decision. I also don’t like the idea of paying import fees and possibly dealing with an international return on that branch ring. I’ve had three different rings custom made or customised and shipped internationally, and each experience was a major pain in the ass, so I’m speaking from bitter experience lol. It’s fine if you’re working with somewhere like Moissyco who has stock settings and an established return policy, but it can be a nightmare with smaller vendors. So if you go with the branch ring, just be super duper extra sure you know your options if it turns out you don’t like it, or if something needs to be altered on it.

Number 1 is ok too, but I don’t like it as much. I have a feeling that braided style looks better as a plain band than with a gemstone IRL.

I voted for #2, simply because I like cleaner more minimalistic designs. However, I wanted to say that I would try to get the ‘leaves’ in a different colour — maybe in some coloured sapphires?

I don’t particularly like the look of #1, and would prefer a plain braided ring without the stone. I do like the idea of #3 but would be bothered by the feel of the branch texture rubbing on the side of my fingers.

Whatever the outcome though, I’m sure it will be beautiful and that you will enjoy wearing your ring. Congratulations too!

My mother’s ring is branches and I’ve never seen another like it – unique is in itself timeless, I think, but it comes down to what feels right to YOU. When you picture yourself 5, 10, 50 years down the line, which ring do you picture on your hand?

helloyestoast :  Loved the leaves the best by far. Glad you went with that choice. I find if I go with my gut I rarely have regrets. It is beautiful.
