I come to you today with a really crazy dilemma. I bought a dress for my casual August wedding, and had it altered to fit me better and to include beautiful lace straps, which I love. The problem is, the dress is still a bit big in the bust for me, and it’s pretty heavy, the underlayer being polyester…
THEN, on etsy, I found this AMAZING dress, which is much more simple, but still elegant, lightweight cotton, no beadwork or sequins. Plus, my future husband always says that he likes things simple, and I want to look amazing for him (BTW, the ONLY wedding dress he has ever commented on was Lady Mary’s dress in Downton Abbey, he loved her dress!). If I decide on this more simple dress, I will sell the fancy one.
So, if you could see the attachments, the first ones is of the more simple dress, and the second and third are of my in my “fancy” dress, which makes me feel like a Claire Pettibone model. But the more simple dress I think would be more comfortable and would probably be the one my fiance would choose. YOUR INPUT MEANS SOOO MUCH, as I am caught in a MAJOR DILEMMA! Thanks so much!!! xoxo

The dress in the second photo is GORGEOUS! To me, there is no comparison. But I am also the type who likes things a bit more elaborate so I am totally biased. Ultimately, you have to go with your gut and you don’t want to be uncomfortable — but that 2nd dress = stunning. Do you have a pic of the front of both to compare?

Opps. I voted wrong- the second dress, the one on you- looks amazing!

It’s entirely up to you. I’m biased as I don’t really like the etsy dress (sorry). I do think the dress you have now is gorgeous, but really its whatever you’d feel the most comfortable in. Either way, I’m sure you’ll look gorgeous on your wedding day!

Second hands down! I’m not a fan of the first one’s corset.

@daniellaroses: The second dress with the crossed straps is BEAUTIFUL! I don’t think it’s too glitzy glam for a casual wedding. Rather, i thnk it’s just special enough for a wedding dress. I really hope you don’t change dresses because your original dress is gorgeous. And I really think that the silhouettes are close enough that if he likes one, he’ll like the other. It’s not like your having a huge ball gown vs a sheath. That’s just my two cents. Good luck! xo

Dang! I voted for the wrong one too! I meant to pick the dress in the second picture. Stunning!!

I’m not a fan of the first one from Etsy, and the second one is INCREDIBLE! You are the bride, you set the tone for your entire wedding. There is no such thing as looking too fancy on your own wedding day!
