Before I started trying on dresses, I was sure that 8751 was my dream dress! I coveted it. And I got to try it on, and have pics of it, but I can’t seem to upload pics from my iPad. Anyway, I loved the texture of the lace! The way the straps looked in the back, the plunging back, everything about it. I felt pretty and curvy in it, although I don’t think I photographed well in it…the pics are less flattering IMO.
Ultimately I decided not to go for that one though, because it was really hard to walk in. I just decided against a mermaid silhouette in general, but if I’d wanted a mermaid, I would’ve gotten that one for sure! It’s gorgeous in person.
I’m pretty sure that there’s a Bee or two who have gotten this dress though…and it looks amazing on them! Try searching the forums for Allure 8751 and you’ll probably find posts about it.

I think they are both stunning gowns. I like the belt detail on the first, and the open back on the first as well. But they are so similar, I really think either one would be gorgeous!

I prefer the 8751 – such a pretty silhouette.

@pinacolada12: I prefer the open back of the 8751, it just looks like it is cut in such a flattering way. Can you add a poll? Is it possible for you to request a sample of the fabric from the manufacturer or a bridal shop to send you a sample of each of the lace fabric? That way you will know for sure? Worth a shot! Good luck!

I like the back of 8634, but it seems to have an empire waist. 8751 seems to have a more natural waist, which I think is more flattering on most shapes.
I would check out the pre-owned websites to see if you can find pictures of real people wearing the dresses.

I love the 8751, the back is gorgeous too.

I vote for the 8751 – beautiful!

I think the 8751 will be most universally flattering. And it is nicer looking. 🙂

Count me for the 8751. I love me a lace gown!

I love both of them! That is such a hard decision!! But I think my vote goes for the first one! Good luck!

wow thanks so much for the replies. Hmmm i have some serious thinking to do. My issue is the pics i have seen of real ladies in the 8751 dress make me a little unsure as i prefer the dress in the model pictures more. Where as the 8634 i prefer in ;real lady ‘ pictures. this makes me think that if i saw them both in real life i would prefer 8634, im even thinking it can be altered to have a more mermaid shape without being tight.
My biggest hurdle is living in New Zealand. The choice of wedding gowns which fit my taste are few and far between. However i agree with you all and i would certainly be happy with either dress. The reason i know this is because if i won lotto tomorrow i would still choose one of these dresses and not a $50,000 one. Actually if i won lotto i would probably get both.

Definitely the second one! I see what you mean about the ‘real’ vs ‘model’ pics. The second dress looks like you’d have to have a perfect backside to look great in it, and also, you’d need to be tall.

Hi Pinacolada – I live in NZ too, so I get how annoying it is not be able to try on so many dresses. I ended up buying the 8634, it was gorgeous and even though I hadn’t tried in on in person, my usual size fit like a glove, it’s built really nicely, and even though it’s technically an empire line, it hugs around the stomach so it gives a really nice silouhette.
