This is my first post. I am a silent lurker and can spend hours reading through posts, review, etc. iI love this site!
I am struggling on what bridesmaid dress color to choose. I am getting married in August of this year. The ceremony will be outdoors, in a park. The reception will be in a Library. I love love love the colors peach & gray. They go together so well. I was looking forward to all the pretty peach & gray/silver detail. For the bridesmaids, I chose gray dresses. I am giving them the option of choosing the style, as long as its from dessy and in chiffon. I planned to give them pretty peach floral bouquets. I thought I was done. Until I came across Emerald Green! It’s my favorite color and it’s so bold and different as a bridesmaids dress. I would have to ditch all my peach and gray decor ideas if I go with green. The groomsmen will wear gray suits.
Here is the dress in Emerald Green
Here it is in gray
and here it is in dove gray
I can’t decide! Please help!

I too LOVE green , but I have to admit that green is generally a hard color to wear…it does not flatter all complexions. Also, the kelly color may not compliment the outdoor space as it is not a very organic shade of green. The darker grey is very Rich and will look beautiful with peach Both outdoors and in a library.
good luck with your planning…bottom line is …make yourself happy!

I voted for the gray bc I love peach and gray together, but I’m confused why you think those 3 colors don’t all go together??

I’m doing jewel tones for my BMs but I think the gray dress is just lovely. The green seems like it might not look right with all of the greens of the garden, and the dove looks too similar to white (IMO). My vote is for the gray. Depending on the style, a pretty peach ribbon around the waist would look pretty great with it, too!

I adore the emerald green/kelly green colour, but as the PP said, it’s not for everyone. Depending on how much yellow it has in it, it can either suit cool or warm skin tones. As the PP said, this means it can look horrible on some people, but great on others.
It wouldn’t be impossible for you to have some form of green though. Peach can work with pea green, mint green, sage green and aqua, like in these examples:

Either grey is lovely.MUCH easier to work with, I myself have my girls in gray. OMG what about grey dresses with a big chunky green necklace?!!!!!!

I voted gray. My outdoor wedding was this past August and my bridesmaids wore gray. (My colors were gray, yellow and purple. [sorry about the HUGE picture!]

I say grey. While I love Jewel tones Emerald green in a part doesnt sound as good in a park as peach and grey. Plus your going to stress yourself out about what to put with the green when greyand peach looks fantastic

I voted for grey too – mine Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses are dove grey – because as beautiful and striking the kelly green is, I agree with PPs in that a) it’s a hard colour for many skintones and b) it’s hard to work in with your wedding colours.

I’d present the options to your bridesmaids and ask them which of the 3 colours they prefer…

I like the gray or the dove grey. I am looking at these same dresses for my bridesmaids, and I think a more subdued color is needed if you are letting them get ones with sequins, otherwise they might look too “dance outfit”

@NewberryBride: You can absolutely do all 3 of those colors together!! Or you could add in some orange like this!
Or you could have the groomsmen wear linen suits and go with a color scheme like this!
Just thought I’d give some alternative suggestions! Hope it helps! Good luck!

Thanks for all the input ladies! Your feedback really helps I love all the color palettes. So pretty, fresh and summery!
@Stoich: that’s a great point! I didnt think of how Kelly Green isn’t very organic…thanks 🙂
@futuremrsk18: Thanks for your input! I’m not a very creative person I guess. I keep holding on to the whole 2 color wedding theme. I feel that incorporating peach & gray with green & white would look disjointed and confusing. After seeing some of these pallettes, I was wrong. They do in fact go lovely together!
@lealorali: thats such a pretty necklace, that’s my favortie shade of green!
@Mulan05: I have presented it to my bridesmaids, they all said the same thing. “It doesn’t matter, choose what makes you happy. They’re all beautiful..” I picked some awesome bridesmaids
@curlymama318: I love the orange palette! I showed it to my fiance and it’s his favorite! So fresh and summer like. The orange is pretty cool looking with the grey..
Thanks for helping me out ladies! I’m pretty sure I’ll go with the gray

@NewberryBride: You could still have touches of the kelly green. Like for the dress of the flower girl (if you’re having one), or the men’s ties, the girls’ accessories and shoes. Just have the peach in different ways, e.g. for the groom’s tie, the flowers, the decor.
The green will probably show up even more if you only have touches of it. If you went for the BMs in that colour, they’d probably stand out more than you would.

@NewberryBride: I love the emerald dress (both the color and the style)! I feel like grey dresses and grey suits could potentially be too matchy matchy and a little drab. I hope you go for the pop of color!
