get some vitamin c and zinc! and be careful about blowing your nose too often, so you don’t get the nasty scabby red nose like I always get!

@Keltaena:  Oh no! That is seriously my biggest fear – being sick for my wedding. At least your cold started before the wedding, and not on the day of! Drink lots of fluids, take vitamins, eat well, and REST! It might not be a bad idea to see a doctor just to make sure it isn’t anything that can be treated with antibiotics that might get worse (Step throat or something). You should be good to go by Saturday.. feel better!

All of the above (rest, vitamins, fluids, sleep) plus hot showers to steam the snot out (gross, I know, but it helps) and some really good non-drowzy cold medicine for the day just in case. I also make sure I eat as much (healthy food) as my body tells me to, you need your strength!

@hisgoosiegirl:  Good point about the nasty red nose. I always get those tissues with lotion in them. And it sounds kinda weird, but before I go to bed, I put a bunch of Carmex lip balm on my nose and that helps a ton!

The night of our rehearsal dinner I started feeling bad, so we ran to the store and got Mucinex D, DayQuil, and throat drops. I woke up the morning of the wedding with the worst sinus pressure/headache EVER! I drank TONS of hot tea, took a long steam shower, and took the meds religiously throughout the day. By the time it was time to put my dress on I felt like a different person.

Also, try taking some Airborne – that’s what I normally do when I feel a cold coming on and it seems to really help!

Good luck and congratulations!

Take some echinacea. Take the liquid extract stuff not tablets. Works wonders every single time.
