Help, I really dont like my wedding set, I have a solitare style with a pave band engagement ring. I have my mom’s diamond, who passed when I was young, as my center diamond. Which is a little small, .31 carats, round. But I would crush my family if I ever decided not to use it as the center stone. Ive been looking for ideas on how to add a little to it and went into my jewelers last night and talked to the designer and thought that maybe a 3 ring with 1/5 carats on each side of my moms diamonds would make it a little more glitzy for me. I also dont like how in my pave bands each tiny diamond is held in with 4 seperate prongs instead of sharing prongs to cut down on the metal. With such small diamonds I now look down and see a hunk of metal. Some people have told me to add a halo, some said to do a 3 stone. Im leaning towards the three stone because I feel like its a safer bet that it will look nice after. I see alot of halos I dont like when they have smaller stones, but some I love. The thing with my moms older diamond is that it dosent sparkle the way diamonds do now, they just didint cut them the same then as they do now. So when I pair 2 diamonds next to it to match, it still will never be perfect, but the jeweler said it wont really be noticeable. So my question is what would you do. Halo? 3 stone? Leave it as is? Let me know what you think!! Thank you!
This is what Im thinking the end product would be like with a 3 stone:
If you have a ring with a smaller center please post it!! Thanks! 🙂
