I almost bought that dress! It is stunning. I like the idea of a light pink.

you could do a neutral like beige or soft gray

No, I dont think champagne is necessarily evening, especially when paired with yellow. I think it could be either day or night.

Yellow is my favorite color so, naturally, that’s the color i wanted to use. My girls’ dresses were a very soft shade of yellow. They later admitted that they were afraid they would look washed out or just not good in yellow but once they got the dresses they all told me they LOVED the color they ended up being! I’ll admit, they looked stunning! The dresses were Jasmine in daffodil.

I agree with the PPs that suggested a light blush pink – I think it’d be lovely with your palette 🙂

Haha, I just picked a yellow dress for my girls.  It’s not really even my main color- I’m going for a spring garden pallete.  This is the dress.  I think I’m going to get lavendar or a deeper purple patent skinny belt for them to wear.  I think they’ll look cute and they’ve all been excited so far- maybe they’re great at lying 😉

I personally wear yellow often, but the shade has to be just right.  I think if you let the girls pick their own dresses, finding a good color for each of them would be easy. Varying shades of yellow look really pretty together and very spring-like. I might be in the minority here, but I do not like the idea of gold or champagne or ivory (esp depending on what shade of white your dress is. If I think of spring daytime, I do not associate it with either of the first two colors. there are some colors from the jcrew swatches that i think would be beautiful. I have worn both fawn and yellow corn dresses as a Bridesmaid or Best Man and the shades looked lovely on everyone.

@EmilytheSecond: I know you said you don’t want to do gray, but what if you did a pale gray and had each of the ladies wear a colored sash, possibly in yellow to match?

Such as this (both from JCrew)

Or this:

and then something like this: (Snestina on Etsy)

Otherwise I think champagne/ivory is beautiful! I had a day wedding as well, and my BM’s wore an ivory colored dress we found on modcloth!

Love these options in champagne/ivory from modcloth:

I like the dusty blue idea, but had to grin at the title of this thread… because one of my bridesmaids made me swear when we were 14 years old that I would not make her wear yellow in my wedding.

I’m going to throw out another idea, since you’re a spring wedding, what about green?  I think it’s a lovely pop of color.
