You can replace screens, but its often nearly as expensive as a new phone. But its worth a try.

You can get a plastic cover that sticks to the screen that will prevent further cracking. I had this on my phone.

I don’t know about the RAZR, but when I cracked my iPhone screen I just took it back to the Apple Store. The guy was nice about it and waved a $99 repair fee, but then he saw that I had water damage and just gave me a new phone.

Did you get the phone in a store? I would call them and see what they can do. If nothing, there are a lot of cell phone screen repair businesses popping in my city, I would look around yours.

@Keltaena:  If you have a small laptop repair company nearby, they often can fix these screens.  Not like Best Buy or another big box place, but a smaller mom and pop independent type.

my Fiance cracked his iphone screen and replaced it for about 30 dollars. Not sure how much the Razr screen would cost, but you could search on amazon (that’s where he got his). It wasn’t terrible to replace (though to be honest, we are both electrical engineers, so we are sort of used to this type of work) but the phone did have to be dismantled (but there was a nice tutorial on you tube he used). Good Luck!

@Keltaena:  oh he should probably be able to do it then! I’m not sure how the razr is put together, so it may be a easier fix than his phone (he had to take it all apart, take out ribbon cables, put back in, was a little more complicated than i would have guessed). Do you have a cover on it? That might help in the future – I think the main reason FI’s broke was because he doesn’t use a cover.

Please be careful with doing it on your own. I had a good friend do this and now his iPhone only works as an iPod.

Try to take it back to the store that you bought it. When I worked for a cell phone store, we would swap it out if it was a regular customer that had us for years (it was a situation-by-situation basis and the manager had to be there). I can say that unlike what most people claim, do not be mean to them about it. When customers were mean to us with situations like that, it cut us off from helping them at all. That may sound bad but anything they do for you in this situation is not required by them so being mean because they aren’t helping is not going to get you anywhere.

The razrs are for verizon aren’t they? If you have insurance, you can usually pay 125$ (that may have gone up if they changed their policies since I last checked which was months ago) to get a replacement. That’s usually the cost of a new screen anyway.
