Check out oncewed and recyclebride they are both free to list the dress!

What about looking for your dream dress used. and selling your dress for what you found your dream dress for

Have you found the dress of your dreams yet? It sounds like you already had and then… something changed. What is it about the dress that makes you no longer love it?

So I just looked at your dress and it’s gorgeous, but I know what you mean. I had to stop watching Say Yes to the Dress because it made me question my dress. However, since you cried about it, sell it. Sell it and get a dress you love. No bride should cry over her dress.

I am in the exact same situation as you. I am a two dress bride because of similar circumstances, not loving my first dress anymore. Have you tried to put the dress on oncewed.com? I put my dress up last week along with several photos and gave as much details as I could about the dress. I also wrote I was flexible with the price and to email me if you have any specific questions or want more pictures of the dress. Fast forward to this week, well I have someone who wants to buy my dress.

Don’t loose hope! It can be done or can be sold. Just like you are selling your dress for a discount. You could also buy your dress from a used dress website too. A lot of times, some of the dresses were never worn. Like us, other brides have second thoughts too.

I would say sell it. I did the exact same thing. Bought a dress and decided I hated it. I have it listed on here, and Recycled Bride, and it hasn’t sold yet, but I may just take it to a consignment shop. Even though I wouldn’t get nearly what I paid, it’s better than nothing!

I personally feel that every bride deserves to have a dress she loves, and feels amazing in. You don’t want to wear a dress you hate. Good luck! You’re not the only one!

I think everyone goes through dress regret.  You have to realise there are hundresds of dresses out there all designed to make you look good.  I think you should have remembered that initial feeling and that EVERYONE is going to think you look beautiful.  I’m big on not letting my fiance see my dress so what you do with the dress now I guess depends on what you want.

I would like to see a pic too!  I am also a 2 dress bride and have not had luck selling mine.  I also bought my dream dress on line (yourdreamdress.com).  That may help mitigate the $$ issue.  Luckily I paid a relatively low price for both of them.  I am with BeckieSue–you have to be happy with your wedding dress.

I am worse….I’m a 3 dress bride! Yikes! They are all beautiful but I became too self-concious of the first because it is a fit & flare style & when the dress came in I had gained weight & was not happy with the way it looked. So 2 months before my wedding decided to see if a dress i had tried on before was available… the computer told them there “might” be a size 8 in stock but wouldn’t find out til Monday….well Sunday I went to consignment & fell in love with a Alvina Valenta ball gown that I bought on the spot…. then had second thoughts.

Then Monday comes & the call comes that the size 8 is in stock & could be here in a week….and I ordered that one too!!!! Yes, I know I am an addict & I need serious help! ha! so now there are 2 that i love, love & am trying to decided which one to wear…maybe one to ceremony & the other to our late-night party???? I am not sure yet but Oct. 2nd is getting closer & closer! In the end I will sell them all! ha!

Oh, hello date twin! I haven’t seen many May 22, 2011 brides. 🙂

And yes, I also would like to see a picture.

I just checked your profile and saw the dress. I tried on your dress at Alfred Angelo too and loved it (especially with the pockets). I decided on something else because it was a little modern for my rustic-themed wedding. The good news is, I have seen recent threads about brides looking for similar-styled dresses. I believe Maggie Sotero and Mori Lee offer similar looking gowns and those are higher priced than yours. I would approach those brides to see if they are interested. The style of your dress is highly popular so I wouldn’t be surprised if someone contacts you by the end of the year. It is a very “Spring-time” dress and the order deadline for Spring brides is December so I would just be patient.

I love your dress, I saw it on your profile. But if you really hate it, if I were you I would keep it up for sale and try on other dresses in the meanwhile. I know it’s a money pit, but it’s your wedding day so if it’s possible, you should be totally ecstatic about your dress and the way you look.

No one should cry when they try on their dress. I would advise buying a new dress that makes you smile.

I went through the same thing and completely understand. I kept trying to talk myself into a dress I bought that was gorgeous but it just didn’t feel like me. I felt guilty even thinking about spending more money on a new dress. I also didn’t want to look back on my wedding photos and always wish I had a different dress. But things have a way of working out in the end. Eight weeks before my wedding I found a dress I love. I listed my dress for sale and was shocked that it sold in just two weeks for only slightly less than what I paid. The new dress I bought was a sample for a lot less than my original dress so I saved money in the end and now have a dress I absolutely love.

I highly recommend listing your dress on preownedweddingdresses.com.  It costs $25 to list your dress but the site gets way more traffic than other free sites. You have lots of time before your wedding and you should be able to sell your dress if it is priced well and hasn’t been altered. I wish you all the best and hope you find a dress you absolutely love!
