So I received my dress yesterday morning and the more I look at it, the more I hate the belt. I love the satin on it, but the applique looks cheap to me, so I’m trying to find a new one to take it’s place. Here’s a photo of it:
So far, my favourite is this one: http://www.etsy.com/listing/107255047/creamy-ivory-bridal-sash-ivory-wedding?ref=listing_119213550, but without the ribbon, just the applique version to be sewn onto my already existing belt. (NB: the specific applique version looks totally different to this, so I’m looking at this one and then just taking off the belt).
My main concern is whether or not it’ll match my dress, specifically the colour. I know it’ll match my comb and earrings, as both are swarovski crystals and pearls designed as flowers. It’ll also be sitting more directly under my bust, rather than at the waist as it is in the photo, which is pretty darn unflattering.
Any help would be much appreciated! Thank you!

I love the belt! I think the one on etsy looks much cheaper than the one you already have. It’s not nearly as delicate as the belt on your dress. The one on the dress looks like the belt my friend had, which she paid $800 for! The etsy one also looks like it is super ivory and would be hard to match.

The sash you linked is a little much imo. Try to find something more delicate

@ynde: I think it would look best if you are going to do a sash like the one you like maybe do one with a little bit of the same color as your dress in it so it sort of all blends. That sash you like it a completly different color and I don’t think it will blend well……based just on the pics your dress looks champagne colored
This belt is from the same seller and looks closer to matching your dress

@futuremrsmp: I noticed that from a distance, the belt I have doesn’t look that bad. The reason I want to get rid of it is because it looks pretty much like a longer version of this up close:
@weddingbound: I’m not getting the sash underneath it, just the applique. I’ll be sewing it onto the sash already on my dress, which is the same colour as the satin underlay. Sorry for the confusion!

i would probably go with something a bit more simple, but if you’re ordering from etsy i’m sure the seller would be willing to send you a few swatches to check against the color of your dress. why not ask?
ETA: I agree with you… up close that sash isn’t great.

@September29: Hmm, the dress itself, when on, looks very plain to me without the belt. When you say simple, would you be able to give me an example you think would work?

hope you have found a belt that you love for your dress. I was wondering if the image posted of your dress is the one you recieved from LaceMarry? If so, were you happy with the qality and fit of the dress?
Thank you sooooo much! Trying to find an afforadable lace wedding dress and its proving a bit difficult.

@ynde: your dress is so pretty! I love the lace
Can you ask the etsy seller ot send you a fabric swatch so you can see if it’s close enough to your dress? That’s what I would do!

First – I LOVE your dress, gorgeous! I think a simple belt would be good, so it doesn’t take away from your pretty dress. the belt you have now looks pretty to me, but maybe you can’t really tell unless your close up? It’s hard to tell from pictures, Im sure it’s much different in personWill it be pretty easy to remove the applique and add a new one? I like this one… https://www.etsy.com/listing/171855665/marjorie-bridal-beaded-sash-rhinestone?ref=sr_gallery_27&ga_search_query=wedding+belt&ga_ship_to=US&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery<br />
