My grandmother would prescribe a buttermilk bath and suggest you drink more water and take a good multivitamin.

do you plan on tanning before the wedding? if so, that might help blend in the dark spots if your skin is bronzed! Best of luck to you!

I never witnessed a “buttermilk bath”, but that was always what my grandmother and greatgrandmothers would talk about to lighten their skin. I think they just washed their faces and arms it a bowl of it. I’d try soaking a cloth in it and applying it like a compress.

Have you tried rubbing lemons and leaving the lemon on for about 15 minutes? My mom used to have dark underarms when she was young and she said she got rid of it with the lemom juice.

P.s. I also have dark underarms but have not tried this long enough to see if it works. I have to though so I can get rid of it in time for my wedding!

Is it actually your skin pigment, or dark hair follicles underneath?

I’m Lebanese and Scottish and got completely screwed by genetics with dark hair and pale skin, so even when I shave, the follicles right under the skin still look dark.  I’ve been getting lasered and its working really well so far, but since its too late for that – I wonder if waxing would work?

@mandypop: yea Im lebanese too and got my moms side and have pale skin + dark hair. Laser took care of it.

I would try to do this naturally because your underarm area is very sensitive. I googled it and got lemons  and avoiding scented deodorants. A lot of people said cream too but maybe it will be too harsh? I would keep hydrated, incorporate a lot of leafy greens (they fix everything) into your diet and try to avoid harsh chemicals. Good luck!!!

My sister exfoliates, she has this “Mary kay” exfoliant which is pretty effective and although it leaves her armpits red they stay “natural color” for about a week before the pigmentation comes back.

If you’re interested in a long run solution for afterwards, Laser hair removal worked for me.

Good luck.
