Hi ladies! I really, REALLY need some help! I am getting married at LaTrobe’s on Royal Dec of next year. I really have no clue how much I should be budgeting for a florist. Also, does the florist set up the tables? The ceremony decor? What about non-flower decorations like candles? AHHHH! My brian is going to explode thinking about all the things I have no clue about!
So… can anyone tell me who you are using, how much it is costing you?
I truly appreciate it!

It depends on a lot of things.
- How important are flowers to you?
- How many tables will you need arrangements for?
- How many people are in your bridal party?
Your venue coordinator will set up some things, but you may want to hire a coordinator to help organize multiple vendors. Some florists do candles, but if you’re looking for an elaborate display, you’ll need to hire a candle vendor like Luminous Events or Firefly. I believe they both start at $700.
I used Meade Wenzel as my florist. She was fantastic and very reasonably priced, but she only communicates by phone or in person. Since you’re an out of town bride, I would maybe check out some of the vendors on Latrobe’s preferred vendor list.
If you’re looking for a coordinator, I highly recommend weddingsbylulu or All About Events.

I will be having my reception at Latrobe’s next December as well! Small world! It is absolutely stunning and we are so very excited! If you email Latrobe’s with your estimated count- they will send you a design which will include how many tables they anticipate using for your reception, etc.. This should be used as an idea, you can always work with them to change the arrangement around, etc…
Latrobe’s also has a candle package that you can purchase and add on to your total. I believe it is something around 3 candles per table. Latrobe’s will have a coordinator there for the day of your wedding. Her job will be to point the vendors in the right direction work with their staff, etc.. Your florist is responsible for setting up your flowers in the locations that you desire (i.e taller arrangements for the food tables, smaller arrangements for the cocktail rounds, etc..) If you are going to use the high boy tables- I would recommend using smaller votive candles. Anything larger would be an issue seeing the table are so small and most guests just use the high boys to put their food/drinks down.
There are many great florists in NOLA. I am thinking about using the Plant Gallary. They are pretty $$$, but do great work. Villarie’s is also wonderful!
My advice would be to contact Latrobe’s. They respond to email quickly. Let them know the questions/concerns you have and they should be able to help you further. Best of luck!

Hi ladies! So its hard to find information about latrobes online. Would someome mind giving me a rough estimate of how much it cost to get married there?

When I was getting married, they had a $25,000 minimum on Saturday nights. I’ve heard it cheaper for Sundays and other days, but it’s definitely not a bargain venue.

We went with Beth’s flowers. They’ve been around a million years and actually did my mom’s flowers for her first wedding back in the early 80s. 6 centerpieces, my bouquet, three bridesmaids bouquets, two handheld mother corsages, two grandmother corsages, button holes for four men (groom, best man, dad, and grandpa), throw bouquet, setup, and delivery for just over $2,000. There aren’t any roses because I’m really allergic, but lots of hydrangeas and peonies and fuji mums and orchids and stuff.
