Your best bet for the short term is probably to go see a manicurist and have them give you a set of gel nails.

For time, I agree maybe get some fakes.

Your cuticles should get oiled and need to be pushed back so you can see your half moons ๐Ÿ˜‰

Haha this is so funny to me. Your finger nails look great. Who is picking up your hand and checking out the profile of your finger nails? This is when of those situations where you as a woman are over analyzing something about yourself that doesn’t need to be.

I agree, no one else will notice the things you dislike. Your nails are much nicer than mine. I no longer bite them but they break all the time and are always uneven. If I were you, I’d just go get a manicure – I hear good things about Shellac.

I would either cut them even shorter (to get rid of the ski slope effect) and paint them a pale opaque pink colour (that’s how I wear my nails on a regular basis and I could have normal long nails if I wanted) or get a fake set.  I know that the fake ones can really wreak havoc on your nails though and when you take the fakes off, your real nails will look much worse than they do right now.  Well they don’t look bad right now, but you know what I mean.

Your nails are fine! Seriously….just have a french manicure done on them and you’re good to go!

My nails are exactly the same! As long as you keep them clean, buffed and straight I honestly think they look beautiful. I’ve never had fakes and I always get told i’m so lucky to have nails like that. Embrace them! ๐Ÿ™‚

I think you have nice nails! Seriously! I really don’t think you need to run out and get fake ones, just get them manicured and see how you feel then. You should see mine right now…I had to cut them to the quick so I don’t scratch patients with them. I think my Darling Husband has longer nails than me right now ๐Ÿ™

They definitely shouldn’t be gooey if they’re set properly. My friend currently has gel nails and they’re rock hard and amazing.

@linguo42: Agreed. Properly applied gel nails should be a pain in the arse to remove, they should not peel off easily.

Try looking into a another salon. I know women who have gel nail polish last for over a month without any peeling or chipping.

I don’t see how you could say those are the ugliest nails.  Look up some images of psoriasis of the nails or fungal infections.

Your nails look great!  I work out in a field all day with insects so mine are constantly covered in dirt or broken off.  I wish I could get mine to look like yours!
