Can you have two rings, one for each hand?

I love that your fiance is so supportive, whatever is going to make you happy I say go for it you have to wear this ring on your finger for the rest of your life so you should absolutely LOVE IT!!!  I can wait to see pictures.

pglt09:  I have no advice, but I would like to see a photo of your ring and the ring you are interested in.

I’m excited to see the photos of the two rings!

If you can afford it, I would just buy the second ring and keep the first. You can switch them out based on your mood and you’ll always have the ring that he proposed with. Plus there may be occasions where the original ring is more appropriate.

ETA: A lot of bees have a secondary ring they wear when travelling so two rings isn’t unheard of!

Can’t wait to see the pictures! OP- I totally know how you feel. ..it’s so great that you are able to be honest and up front with your fiance! He sounds like a keeper for sure! My only suggestion would be to give it a couple days and make sure that’s what you want to do. ..once your original e-ring is gone, it gone.  Now, we want pictures of them ALL! 🙂

I could be wrong but I feel like almost everyone who gets engaged keeps kind of looking at rings or wondering what else is out there.  If I were you I would just let it go for awhile and enjoy your current ring.  Personally, I might want a right hand ring or re-set my diamond or different band one day but my fiance spent a lot on my engagement ring so I’m going to spend at least a couple of years enjoying it before indulging in the idea of a right hand ring or re-setting, etc.

pglt09:  We upgraded to smaller diamond ctw in my e-ring v.2.0, fwiw. An “upgrade” doesn’t have to be an upcharge (more money) or upsize (more diamond or more halo). It could simply be more appropriate to your priorities and preferences. That counts.

How about buying it for yourself as a right hand ring? Girls buy themselves right hand rings all the time. Then you still have the sentimental aspect of  wearing the engagement ring that your Fiance bought.

Why can’t you buy it? I mean, I don’t know your financial situation, but if you can swing 1300, it isn’t that bad if you want to treat yourself. What I mean is, you don’t have to wait for a man to buy you a nice gift.

Also, have you considered giving Weddingbee a break? All this ring talk, showing rings, talk about upgrades, etc. can plant ideas in your head. Maybe give yourself a couple weeks to just be with your ring and then see if you still want it? Or if that money could be spent better elsewhere?

If you can both afford it buy it. why not you could keep both for a while and then sell the other on. It’s something  you wear every day so you should love it would  to see pics

I honestly can’t give my opinion until I see your current ring and the ring you want to switch to. 😉 Sparkly pics please!

pglt09:  I get buyer’s remorse — but… it was a gift. And one that’s pretty hard to ‘exchange’ at that! I think it’s going to be something you either love because it was from someone you love or you just quietly shrug and say: hey, this is what I have.

I’ve talked to my guy about doing a pretty cheap ring NOW and, in 5, 10, 15 years if we decide we have the finances and I want to upgrade, we can do it then. Might be a conversation you could have?
