I’m glad it worked out for you! I think rings are sort of like picking the guy- once you’ve picked, you just have to stop looking!

Enjoy! (and he definitely looks like a keeper!).

@pgit09 everyone probably will get offended by my response but I think you should have the ring you want. Your gonna be wearing it a lifetime right??? πŸ˜‰. And as far as the cost, I see a lot of people giving you flack saying you should greatful because $4500 is a lot for a ring. Well I say that depends on the couple. To some $4500 isnt all that much to other it maybe breaking the bank. Bottom line don’t feel guilty for wanting what you want.

My Sweetie bought me a 10k solitaire but I wanted diamond bands on the sides of my engagement ring, guess what- I got it a month after I got engaged.  Again, do and get what you want ☺️.

Your ring is beautiful. It’s great that you and your guy are considerate of each others’ feelings, which is, I think, one of the most significant elements of what I read in this thread. That’s a great foundation for your marriage. Best wishes on your wedding and partnership!

pglt09:  Hi, I understand exactly what you mean as it relates to your current ering. I had a very similar situation. I felt bad for feeling that way about (Daisy) my ering, but as luck would have it, Fiance brought up the subject of another ring and I took advantage of the opportunity. Initially, I was going custom with an entirely new ering, but that fell through when I never heard back from the jeweler after my last communication back in early Dec. So, Fiance found a local jeweler who’s redesigning Daisy with all the elements I wanted in a new ring. I’m getting a much better ring/design going this route…truly my dream ring! I say all of that to ask you if maybe you could possibly redesign your current ering. The jeweler showed us the preliminary redesign ering and it doesn’t even look like the same ring, yet it is, so I get to keep the sentimental value of my first ering (Daisy). Just a thought. Good luck with whatever you guys decide to do!

I love your ring but I understand 100%. You can

1) reset the ring for now ( you are still keeping a part of the old ring with out * the most important thing the diamond*)

2)  get it later as a gift for your future aniv when you renew your vows? it will be more amazing πŸ™‚

I don’t think you are selfish, everyone makes different amounts and have different budget. ALot to one is not alot to another. 1000 is a bottle of wine or a dinner for two to some but a month of income to another. It really depends on both of you and how you budget.  You are looking down at your ring everyday and if you hate it and you can afford it then go ahead.

I have the same issue

I actually picked my own ring even the diamond but my parents and best friends keeps on insisting i get round diamond because it is more ” traditional”.  it is 1.5 E VSI Ideal. Don’t get me wrong I LOVE my ring but if i can chose again it would be an oval. My husband paid 20k for it, he has a really good job for his age and saved alot. ( we did not take loans and we own our own home fully paid). I am really greatful since we are only in our 20s but deep inside I wish I got an oval diamond. I like the style alot more.

We are still young and since  we are planning to have our first kid in 3 years, I will not be getting a new ring anytime soon.  Talk to your husband sincerely about it. I talked to mine and We plan to get it on our 25th or 30th aniv when we renew our vows ( or when our kid is planning to propose becasue, We are planning to give our current diamond to our kid in the future to pass down since it is a really good stone.

If you really really dislike it, have it reset at a jewler. It can change the deisgn alot. Hopefully your issue is just with the design and not like mine the shape of the diamond. good luck!!!!!!!!! πŸ™‚

ignore some people, every family is different and everyone’s income is different. Your current ring is amazing, but it is up to you at the end of the day. You are the one who is looking down at your own fingers, our opinions how it looks dosen’t matter πŸ™‚
